Well, literally hundreds of free textures does sound like a good thing. Some people on my server have complained about the limited number of available skins. In particular, more female options has been the biggest request.

I provide an option on my server of people posting their skins in the topic and I'm just adding the skins.

Same on my server. Users even can choose whether they want to allow other users to use their requested skin, or keep it to themselves. Still, some people wanted more options without requiring users go out and find their own skin.

There's a difference between the mods you install on singleplayer and mods that are installed on the server.

- When you play singleplayer (not connected with a server) you play with 'your' mods

- When you play multiplayer (connected with a server) you play with 'the servers' mods. That actually means that you can play on servers with mods you don't have installed, sometimes that are not published at all.

Properly (singleplayer) installed texture packs however, override the texture pack of the server.

Is there a chance we can replace player meshes at the same time? 'twould be useful in some cases.

That would be quite useful for a skin I was trying to make the other day. I needed to make the arms different than each other, but that is impossible with the current mesh.

Or course, more complex things would also be possible.

It would be nice if future versions of minetest could support models like those from The Sims 2 in addition to what is already available. Is it possible to add a window that allows the player to see what he/she looks like in the chosen skin?

Pull request: https://github.com/Zeg9/minetest-skins/pull/2

The skin file keeps getting save when anyone logs in. That was a bit of a pain when I was having to hand edit the file.

Also, skin #1 is the same one as in default, but by a different name. That seems pointless.

This pull request fixes both issues, as well as fixes the skin numbering to index from zero. The numbers had to be changed to avoid having a skin #2 without a skin #1 (as skin one was removed) anyway, so I numbered them correctly this time.

As a side note, if I understand Jojoa1997's issue, it was caused by the redundancy that this pull request fixes.

Awesome mod. Thank you. But, I have a problem. When another texture touches me I get that texture stuck "in" me. Only on modded textures though (mob, fruit, etc.) Any suggestions?

Also in reply to everyone who says "where can I get skins?" Go to http://www.kongregate.com/games/theswai ... ete=skincr And make your own skin! :) Save as a .png and put it in the minetest/mods/minetest/skins folder with the name "character_#" ----No quotes and replace # with the next highest number in the folder.

minetest/mods/minetest

Also rename the file to to just "skins"---No quotes. I had a problem with it until I renamed the folder.

I don't really understand what you mean. Does your player texture become the one of the thing you touch?
If not, please attach a screenshot or something so I can see better.

They get stuck in my chest. Visible to other players. I had a few sheep (simple mobs mod) and apples, pear, and oranges (fruit mod) stuck in my texture all at once. The sheep kept hurting me so I have to play with damage off. I have since removed those mods, but now other ones are getting stuck "in" my girlfriend and me. The cart from the carts mod does it badly.

The bug you're experiencing has since been fixed - please try 0.4.5 and see if the problem persists.
