This mod is pretty useful for creating not only paintings, but also short movies for movie theaters. Come to think of it, you could make picture frame nodes and movie screen nodes to contain pictures and movies.

Now thanks to sokomine it will be possible to place paintings over head and on floor.
But that now has the same problem I encountered. The engine does not know how to render them when two pictures are at the same place. In the mod I solved it with placing every entity with a small random offset.

PNG is an image format, just like .jpg .bmp .gif. If you use windows the file extension is hidden by default. It is recommended to show them.

Good question. I just tested it. And it seems you can use about any size.
This is 3872x3872 pixels and 8.8MB and it works without problems.

JPEG images don't look all that nice. I recommend downloading GIMP and converting the images that you want to use into PNG images.Element wrote:is there a way i can add a JPEG picture instead of a PNG picture

There is an export option in GIMP.

An idea for this mod would be to have a base node that the images could be attached to. You could then create a formspec window for when the node is right-clicked that can be used to select the desired image for the node.

Thanks cool Mod and easy to replace the textures, i use 800X600 images for Mods like this one and always works out great. ^_^

I would like to ask your opinion on this possible improvement: (Once the permits have been obtained)
Give the player the ability to upload png / gif (I call gif the stream PNG) directly from the game (if singleplayer or remote server...)
this is the first flowchart:
what do you think? It's a good idea?

Really Like this mod so I made up 65 Pictures from public domain images/art available mostly on Wikimedia.
Sampler - also some of my favorite pictures :):
I tried to keep each file small as I could without losing to much detail so they are based around 128px res per node and then converted to use an indexed palette which also gave them a slightly more grainy appearance. All 65 images are about 1.5mb.
Here's the approximate list:
If you only want selected pictures you'll need to renumber as required following the mods instructions. Hopefully a few peps will find this useful.

I made a new image for this mod. It's liscense is GPL cc-by-sa. It was made in Garry's Mod using Homestuck Playset 2. Here you go:
