Hi stujones11,

The server MinetestForFun has begin a huge project. We are going to add spells, mana/solarmana, wizard hunter and warrior classes, and many other things with this changes... (when release, it will be posted on forum, for the community)
The fact is your mod is really well designed for warriors (plate/shoulders/helmet/shield), but for hunter/wizard, we need different armor models :
- wizard's hat,
- archer's beret,
- armor model with a very small thickness, for leather/cloth armor (lesser than the actual armor thickness)
- maybe a dress model ? but it's maybe very difficult because of the leggs...
- any other ideas are welcome

Maybe you've already work on this feature, maybe not... But please, can you help us ? :)

@Minetestforfun, I made this skin for leather armor,

I am still working on the boots and inventory images though.
right now the boots and belt are from the Summerfeilds texturepack,

Wow ! that's a really great leather armor skin for our future hunters :p

We need a second skin "less armored" for hunters, with an another colour and with a "beret" or a "scarf on head", but the color isn't decided yet for the second skin... (maybe green ?)

Change the folder name from minetest-3d_armor-master to minetest-3d_armor and try again :)

Sorry, it turns out this was a genuine bug/typo in a recent commit. This has now been fixed in the current git master. Thanks for letting me know.

Unfortunately, that's not going to be so easy without big changes to the model and to the mod itself. I do, however, plan to include much more flexibility in future versions of this mod and will keep these ideas in mind when I finally get enough spare time to work on it.

You could take a look at the 'multiskin' branch (github) which incorporates an additional clothing layer, though probably not quite what you're after, you could maybe use the multiskin mod as the base for your own custom armor mod.

There seems to be a serious problem with your installation, it's telling you that the file or directory does not exist!
I personally have no clue about installing mods on a windows platform (never done it) but the following links might be helpful.

Very nice, I will attempt to merge this, though my git skills are a bit lacking :/
I will soon be adding crystal armor along with support for the ethereal mod. TenPlus1 has done most of the work on this and you can find the crystal armor textures here https://github.com/tenplus1/3d_armor. Any chance you could include those icons too?

Cool. Yeah, I notice he's done the shields as well. I've just finished up a full set of technic armor (minus the shields, at the moment).

Thanks, nice job with the technic armor btw, I will include that as part of the modpack. I think people will complain about the lack of shields, however, I will add those if you get round to creating them, your graphical skills are clearly much better than my own.

Hi Stu, is it possible to have an invisibility armor, which can only be used for a small amount of time, but can be used by normal clients? It would make some PvP servers lot more interesting...

That's an interesting idea but I'm not sure armor would be the best vehicle to provide such a feature. Something like a potion or a cape would be more in-keeping with most of the RPGs I've played. Also, it would be a bit of a nightmare with the current skin mod support.

I will keep the idea in mind, along with those of Minetestforfun, for the 'next generation' 3d armor mod.

Awesome this mode, I love it, but I was getting this error lately:

I noticed it happened when a character gets close to a torch, appearently it detects it as a fire damaging node. I started to play with that piece of code, avoiding to get to the formula if dtime is nil, so i added this little code and stopped the crashes:

I don't know if it's the correct way to solve it but it did stopped the crashes.

What about wizard armors, like hat and dresse model ?
Do you think it's possible ? If yes, can you explain please, because if i can do it myself, i will try :)

also, if someone have a similar models/textures in his "unfinished/secret box", don't hesitate to share it :)

Weird, that function is only ever called from one place and dtime cannot possibly be nil. I can only guess that some other mod is calling that function (though I can't imagine why) without the new dtime parameter. Your fix should be fine though it's probably best to not just return from the function but instead only do the fire damage if dtime is valid.

I have just pushed a commit to this effect, thank you for reporting the error.

Like I said, things like wizard hats and dresses would require changes to the model and is not something that can be easily added on at the moment. I am not even sure how I could do those in a voxely enough way in any case, sorry.

I would suggest that you try and make do with the current model and use imaginative skinning like the leather armor by Napiophelios. Adding custom armor types is relatively straightforward.

Please update to the latest git version, this error was recently fixed.

BTW does anyone happen to know which other mod it is calling the update_armor function?
It seems a bit pointless since it's updated every second (default) anyway, perhaps they ought to be calling set_player_armor which will update the armor's appearance.

Edit: looks like the answer might be in the traceback, hud_hunger. maybe there is a valid reason to call it then?

stu,might I ask,how can I add custom armors? I need it for a mod I'm making,I'll give credits when it's done,answer if you have time,thanks in advance!
