When I downloaded the mod, all that downloaded was a "RAR file". There was no folder, no init.lua, or anything.rubenwardy wrote:What are you talking about?

*facepalm* You have to extract the rar file. The rar file is a few files compressed in to one. So is zip, tar.gz, tar.bz2, and so on.J-Block wrote:When I downloaded the mod, all that downloaded was a "RAR file". I made a few (a lot of?) mods for minetest: here is a list.

I sincerely apologize that I do not have a complete knowledge of computer files, not to mention that my computer does not allow me to unzip/extract it.Evergreen wrote:*facepalm* You have to extract the rar file. If you use windows, you should use 7zip (free) or winrar (you're supposed to pay for it, but nobody pays, lol)J-Block wrote:I sincerely apologize that I do not have a complete knowledge of computer files, not to mention that my computer does not allow me to unzip/extract it.
Here is a link to 7zip: http://www.7-zip.org/

Okay... When itned on he textures didn't load, but they did when I turned it off. So I don't know what the problem is. Maybe your dowload ended up a bit corrupted and the stuff doesn't work? It happens.

You should (if you have worldedit) be able to copyy it in, by putting it in the 'schems' folder of your world. Next you select a node by doing '//p set' and puch a node so that a '1' appears on it. Then, do '//load airship'. Having copied it, go in the back and place the controller at the bulgy front end. Place it by clicking on the FLOOR at the front. It should then work. To build your own airship, make a steel block rectangle as big as the airship will be from above, so that no parts are missed out. Then, build an airship out of planks, white wool and fences. The airship MUST touch the steel rectangle somewhere. Place the controller and it ahould then fly.

It's weird looking back on my old posts as an adult. Miss some of the old times though. Johnyknowhow#5272
Hmmm. Where is Pavel_S these days? Is he still with us, or did he leave?

I mainly use .zip downloads,
becuase I dont know how to download and extract them,
You don't need a program to extract .zip files,
You just click the Extract All button,

Was just kidding, because it is only 1.5 KB difference. And i don't care about archive types, because i use "unp" to unpack archives. "unp" automatically figures out which program to use if you throw an archive at it.
But even if i don't care when i unpack archive, i really like to see xz adoption, so thanks a lot Topywo.
There is no better algorithm™ than xz for text heavy archives like mods.
