Yes. Since the plants are only placed in the world when that section of the world is loaded for the first time

Yes. Since the plants are only placed in the world when that section of the world is loaded for the first time

Noob here, is there a guide somewhere for crafting?. I haven't been able to find anything but I could have overlooked it.

the craft guide mod shows all recipes for all mods, but no guide for now.

Updated to version 1.39:

- Added Rye, Rice and Oats thanks to Ademants grains mod.
- Rye and Oats can be made into normal flour to make bread, Rice has it's own bread.
- Added new Oatmeal recipe using actual oats (bowl, bucket water, 4x oats)
- Fixed barley steps inside registered_plants table.

I have a suggestion but it's more to do with the wine mod I think
you have now have rice then why not make saké
also the saké Masu cup sort of fits in with the minetest aesthetics

Could add sake to the wine mod for sure, will think up some rice dishes and do some textures.

Rye, Rice and Oats seem only to grow when someone is near. Not like the other
crops. Anything different about them or is that me ?

Minetest 0.4.17.1, valleys mapgen, only farming_redo installed
planted on soil_wet under clear sky

All other is doing very well. But like this it is very unlikely someone want to wait
half an hour in real time only to reach rice_3 :)
Wait until stage 8 and you could harvest 3 stacks tomatos in the same time :)

Also the oat meal recipe I did not find. Same for farming:porridge.
Only thing I can make from oat/rye is flour.

Gundul: Strange indeed, I planted some rice on my sky platform yesterday on Xanadu and logged in just now and it was fully grown... hrm... As for Oatmeal ([2x barley, 2x wheat or 4x oats], 1xbowl, 1xbucket water or milk) crafts it.

As for the recipe of oatmeal, it does not even show up in craft guide of unified_inventory where it should when
I click on the farming:oat

A player planted last evening rice and it still was rice_1 when I checked this morning :)
I am testing right now on Lilly and what is funny to see, that if I switch day with
sun/moon in unified_inventory rice/rice/oat seem to add one stage (not all of them)
like they were counting days. But only in area with active abm.

[Edit] now after 2hrs realtime I can see: farming_rice_4 :)
[Edit] tested in newly generated singleplayer world, valleys mapgen no mods but farming_redo. 100% same
My servers: Jungle, Lilly in the valley, ZombieTest

Hey.

Thanks for the extension of this great Mod but there are some issues:
Gundul said already, all 3 (rye/oat/rice) grows EXTREMELY slow.

And also i can't find Recipes for Oatmeal and Porridge, and your Recipe for Oatmeal you wrote above also won't work.

Sake for wine Mod is also a nice Idea and please add more recipes for Rice, there are thousands of Possibilities what you can do with Rice. Only Bread is not really creative. Maybe a Rice soup with one or more crops out of the Mod, there are many.

However, thanks for your work on this great Mod. I like it and use it on my private Server.

Update:

- Fixed new grains growing speed.
- Fixed new grains seed rarity when digging grasses.
- Added Jaffa Cakes :P

Notice: Textures and recipes wanted for food items :)

  • Melons have no digging groups, so they take a while to dig. Is this intentional? Nevermind; they have snappy = 1.
  • Why are peppercorns crafted from pepper? (I assume the latter is a bell pepper or something in the same genus.) They're botanically unrelated.
  • I might try to make some pasta or pizza if I get some time.

okay I have been looking at the crops and I haz a disappointment I have flour lots and lots of flour it's safe to say I have a glut of flour as well as plain bread
the new grain add-ons I love but there isn't enough to do with them
rice bread that is it :/ maybe whole grain bread by grinding the rye, oats and barley together to make whole grain flour
or just grind the rye to craft rye flour bake that and you have rye bread
we have had chocolate chip cookies for ages how about oat cookies using oats instead of cocoa beans
and to go on about the rice again congee rice+bucket filled with water +bowl+salt+sugar
okay I'll stop moaning I promise sorry if I sound like I'm complaining I promise I'm not I see some wasted potential
and that is frustrating if I could do this my self and make a private mod I would that way I could not sound like I'm complaining all the time

That's always the problem with food items in MT. As a hungry player, you'd usually settle for one food source. A second one would just eat up valuable inventory space. Thus, new food items are mostly of intrest for shops and decorative purposes, sometimes allowing some limited role play.

Diffrent foot items could become a lot more intresting if they where to become trade items requested by hungry NPC mobs. "Free", not-yet-tamed-ones could become intrested in those food items and ask for them. Giving them their favorite food would then not end up in taming them (bread could still accomplish that) but mostly make the mob happy and perhaps give the player something (money?) in return.

Updated to version 1.40:

- Added Mithril Scythe (right-click crop to quick harvest and replant)
- Added lucky block for above :)
- Added farming.add_to_scythe_not_drops(item) function so that it wont drop items like trellis or beanpoles
