Christmas is nearing, so I decided to make these little "houses". It needs no mods and is empty, perfect to add your own crap at your will. I'll also add more designs for you to choose from, but only when I feel like adding. Its been a while since I last been here huh? I still look at the updates and I love the 3rd person view mode.

Forgive me, I'm new here. What program to extract? 2nd, how do you install the houses into a world I have. I didn't even know this was an option.

Please add an alternate download as a .zip format.

What do you suggest I use and why add an alternate?

I recommend WinZip or 7zip, just extract the files to the "worlds" folder.

Can I move the house from that world to one of my worlds?

Get 7-Zip it is free then Winzip.
Link: www.7-zip.org/
But to copy the houses to own world you might need use worldedit.

While .7z offers a better compression ratio than .zip, Windows can't extract it natively. For files of less than 100 MiB, it is rarely worth using .7z compared to .zip.

They're very nice, modern houses that fit well into towns.

It'd be great if their schematics could really be downloaded. Right now that doesn't work. The site that hosts them seems to require JavaScript - somethiing which definitely is not necessary for a download.

Could you be so kind and attach the houses to your first posting? As an additional bonus, you get to see how many times they're downloaded.

Thank you for the alternate download links.

If you create more houses using the same style (perhaps plus a few smaller ones), they might form a new village type in mg_villages.

sorry man,no offense, but those houses pretty much...sucks,but hey, that's a good start! I used to build houses worse than that (-3-) but now I'm pretty good,I'll lend you some builds for inspiration if you like! ^_^

by the way, mind using texture packs? that would look VERY much better. peace out!

Nice designs i like modern architecture, it is rarely seen in Minetest but is ideal for the voxel style.

yeah, sort of miss the nice buildings mauvebic showcased. His worlds where always good for a sightseeing tour of more modern approaches to architecture of the good sort.

The houses shown in this thread here are certainly not bad. They do have style, are well-built and creative - certainly better than the vast majority of primitive houses found on many servers. If you're a good builder, feel free to supply screenshots or schematics for your buildings. We'd love to see them!

It would be great to have the houses as either WorldEdit or .mts schematic files instead of entire worlds.

Please don't listen to what Ikishida says. Evidentally he or she has no taste or class. Your houses are very nice. I have 1 of each. I just wish i knew how to put them in the same world fairly close to each other like a modern day village.

You can do that with mg_villages. Except that three houses are too few to form a new, convincing village type. There'd be too much repetition. Maybe there are other houses elsewhere that could fit in style.

The houses in this thread come complete with their world files. That's very big. The houses need to be found in the world, saved with worldedit (or, better, my handle_schematics).

In order to show how easily it can be done, I've extracted the three houses from their worlds (that is some work - it would have been easier if they had been schematic files from the beginning) and created a new village type for mg_villages. You can find it on GitHub in the village_modern_houses mod. It does of course depend on mg_villages.
