I would just like to update this and give some feedback:
Done! Sorted! I don't need help anymore.

What I did (for anyone interested):
1. Got my hands on an old box with Linux (Ubuntu) installed.
2. Updated Linux
3. Installed Minetest
4. Installed Zenith and Python
5. Copied the Minecraft world over to the Linux box from the PC I had Minecraft on
6. Followed the instructions given above (to convert the MC world to MT)
7. Located the output folder, copied the converted MT world from the 'conversion PC' back to the other PC where I play MT on.
8. Loaded it up and... Voila!

Notes:
- The script did ask to download some mods at the end (on the Linux PC), but it didn't work for some reason, so I just copied the list of needed mods and made sure they exist on the PC I intended to play on (the Windows PC).
- Once I downloaded all the mods, I ran the world from MT, so all my 'hard work' and time spent in MC did not go to complete waste and I was able to continue my adventure in MT. :)

I got my kids to switch over from MC to MT. Though there were some blocks missing, I also converted some of their 'loved' MC worlds over to MT and they're all happy playing MT... I can uninstall MC now, so I don't have to buy it for each of my kids. :)
