It's a reasonable rendition of the house I grew up in.

Here's your Stadtpark with trees and fountains. I was in a bit of a hurry so the trees haven't finished growing yet.

Cheers,

Andrew.

DELETED

I'm sorry I'm not the most experienced. How do I do that. I have the feeling that somehow I can't post anything without a licence.

I strongly advise you ALL to PLEASE SPECIFY A License. ELSE WE AREN'T ALLOWED TO USE IT, I GUESS ??

This licensing rubbish is taken way too far. If a little kid draws a picture do you make them sign a license and a Terms Of Use Policy before they're allowed to stick it on the fridge?

If you create original content that may end up becoming part of the game itself then licensing is required. This is a forum thread dedicated to players sharing their game action with others. "Look Mummy. I drew a picture."

The fact that people are posting their maps and buildings here implies that they want other people to be able to download them and play with them. Play being the key word here. If you don't want other people playing with it don't post it. Stop trying to suck the joy out of every one else's lives.

And a little bit of Australian Copyright Law just to point out how silly this has become. If a document or artwork is altered by more than 20% it is a new piece of work and may be copyrighted under a new name. So if someone takes one of my buildings and reworks it a bit then it is no longer my building.

Personally I would be very flattered if someone posted a copy of one of my buildings with improvements that they've made. I would be even more flattered if something I created was deemed worthy to be included in someone else's public server. I'm not going to start crying like a spoilt baby "That's my picture! You can't look at it.". And I'm not going to waste my time creating worthless license agreements for stuff I intended to be used freely and publicly.

It's a game. Play.

Just add "CC0" and stop bitching about licenses. How difficult is that?
Takes you less time than typing out a rant-post about how you feel there should not be a push for licensing here.

And using the analogy referring to "if a little kid draws a picture... etc." is childish and does not even makes sense to a rational/logical individual, when lumped into this situation.

This forum seems to be getting flooded lately with righteous freedom warriors looking to shake things up.
A bit of sound advice would be, in the words of Mater... "ta not too"

Oh, c'mon... Thanks to slopsbucket I've learned about that ridiculous Australian copyright law. If it's like that it's in fact a law that allows blatant disregard for the proper authorship. I certainly wouldn't be keen to publish any kind of artwork in a country that allows such very unjust handling of other's work and which will very likely prompt plagiarism.

On the other hand, I think that licenses should be posted along with the schematics or other assets published on this Forum. After all the Forum is not a fridge and the creations posted here are not (always) child's drawings :-)

Well if someone doesn't care how their creation is used they can always slap the WTFPL license on it and be done with it. Or they can just leave it without a license, because as a creator its their choice what they want to do with their artwork, no matter how much some people may complain (hint hint TumeniNodes).

The funny part of this is, no one, as of yet..., has ever added a license to any map files they have shared, and it is obviously not a requirement in this section.

The only reason I touched on it here, is because someone decided to bring the licensing gripe to it.
LMD wrote:I strongly advise you ALL to PLEASE SPECIFY A License. ELSE WE AREN'T ALLOWED TO USE IT, I GUESS ??
.. and then it carried on from there.

Sharing your .we files does not seem to be an issue (until someone finds one)

If or when they do, and for future reference, a simple task of copy/paste will do the trick
https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/

and all will be right with the world.

I leave such posts for the first time. And if I need this licence for my city, then I have no desire to upload it anymore.

IMO this thread should be renamed to "share your schematics".

To you, Phoenixflo : You can choose the licence yourself. It can also be like that : You may not distribute or modify my schematic in anyway. You may not claim it for you.

Du kannst du Lizenz frei bestimmen !

The famous Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

Sorry folks, that’s all they were really, a castle covered in gardens.

Phoenixflo44, it's exactly young people like yourself that I was trying to defend in my rant.
Stop trying to suck all the joy out of every one else's lives.
These people can only ever control you if you let them. No matter how minor, you should never surrender any of your personal liberties. They take a little, so little that it's easy to just let them have it so that they'll shut up. Then they take a bit more, and a bit more, and before you even realise it has happened you end up in the sort of society that my grandfather went to war to fight against. "I fought for my country and your King can go **** himself!" (he was speaking of England at the time)

I was also hoping some of them would look up Copyright laws in their own countries just to find out that it’s very similar throughout the western world. It’s to stop large corporations from buying up copyrights and crippling all human invention and innovation. It’s based on the reasoning that there is no such thing as “an original idea”, that every idea is basically built upon someone else’s idea. Think about that.

Post your maps and your pictures, I’ve enjoyed seeing them. I hope to see more.

You’re the new generation. The world is whatever you make it.

Cheers,

Andrew.

Andrew, AFAI can see, you didn't specify a licence either :P
I'm asking this because I (and probably some others too) may want to use your beatiful schematics, especially the gardens !
What is their size ? (x,y,z)
Hint : You could make them look far better using ethereal mod...

The File is to big for an attachment (8,3 MB as .WE.TAR.GZ). So it comes per Google Drive:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=12Khbh ... 77LXNntMQ-

Size: 160x214x178 Blocks
Excavation: 4 Blocks

Because of the size of the structure, it is important to uncover the required area of the map beforehand else it will be destroyed by the landscape generating.

The license of the file: CC BY SA 4.0

Try .mts (minetest schematic format). With that, the actual screenshot of a building may surpass its usage of disk space as a schematic in most cases.

Hi Everyone.

I’m surprised at how few of these I have left, I even had to download what I could from links on this forum. Another very good reason for Sokomine to be asking people to please post schematic files. They get hosted on the forum’s server itself and should remain there throughout the life of minetest, instead of relying on free file hosts that expire after a while.

And here’s another very good reason for people to share freely without restriction – extra redundancy. If anyone out there still happens to have any copies of my older works can they please post them? I decided to tidy my computer up a bit and I don’t have much left any more.
