That's absolutely insane.
I'd like to see a map like that but for Dublin, Ireland :P The Grafton Street part and maybe Temple Bar.

Thanks for your comments, and special thanks to webdesigner97 for his 'streets' mod, which has been hugely used on this project.

Now I try to make an overview map for the city... with no success. I need help.

This map is absolutly amazing!! I tested it and it's incredible. There is just a problem with the doors in the old district (boat, first city). There is two door tops instead of one top and one bottom...
Look at this :

Yes I know... Sorry for that. There is a incompatibility with the wooden doors between MC & MT which I can't solve during the conversion. All the wooden doors in NYC are like that. When you open, it remove the block beneath.

P.S.: can you replace your picture by a link or spoiler, please ?

Great map, but why is the lettering on buildings (e.g. "CASINO", "AIRPORT") backwards?

Yes, it's normal. Y axis is reversed during conversion. I will fix these letters soon...

That's a pretty bad flaw for the program to have.

Something else I've noticed with this map: MT leaks memory like crazy for some reason! If I fly around this map long enough, MT will eventually take 4 GB RAM and still malloc more. (And I only have 8 GB RAM total and no swap.) So when my RAM is 90% full I have to quit MT.

This does not happen with any other MT map I've tried so far. My configuration is MT on Arch Linux with LuaJIT and all the other bells and whistles enabled.

I have 4 GB RAM and never got this problem... maybe update your Minetest client (?).

MT is the latest git version. I forgot to mention that. Just compiled it half an hour ago.

The memory problems are at their worst when I fly to the highrises west of the airport. But even when I avoid that area and say only visit the cruise ship and the NYC district in the north I still see RAM usage ballooning (via Conky on my desktop), slowly but steadily.

P.S. Maybe I should try this map on the Mac too and see what happens there.
