Ok so I wanted to make an extensive mod and get experience in making generated ores
So here it is the Orichalcum mod. It was code from dirttest which was code from Diamonds from InfinityProject.

Wikipedia of what Orichalcum is: Wikipedia Page

License:WTFPL
Depends:Default

Download 4(Works in 0.4.8 and later)

Download version 3

Download version 2

Download version 1

Orichalcum is a non existent ore obviously that is used to craft tools and other things later on.

The Crafts are the same as normal tools but using orichalcum gems.

Fixed the mess up with Orichalcum not dropping shards and gave the Orichalcum pick a serious power boost as well as making Orichalcum harder to find

Give some more information in your description. Like what orichalcum is, crafting, and where orichalcum can be found. Also add screenshots.

I love orichalcum. It is such an elite mineral. This stuff could be deep below ground (at least -5000) and quite rare. Once obtained, its might could surpass that of steel/diamond and titanium (you could even make it indestructible.) It's tools could also destroy anything with great speed, with them destroying the materials they were made to break almost instantly. For these reasons, their could only be one for the quite few clusters of them that spawn underground. Blocks made from orichalcum could also take a long time to break, even when up against tools made from the same stuff. They could even be resistant to tnt and other items that destroy blocks instantly.

Wow that is in depth but I'm not going to make it that far underground because who wants to dig that far just for that?

I'm having a problem with the ore not appearing on old maps does anyone know how to fix that?

You can't, they appear only on non generated regions, if you go far in your map, you may find some.
Or you could generate the ore with an ABM...

Bug: The orichalchum sword doesn't do damage.

Sounds more like a feature to me :) The orichalchum ore is so rare and esoteric that swords forged from it don't even do any damage.

Is it possible to add a new attribute to a tool by attributes I mean crackly crumbly etc this is for a future update to this mod

Just a small suggestion.
I think you should add a link to the Wikipedia article about Orichalcum (so people know exactly what it is).
Do it like this:

Code: Select all

Wikipedia Page
BTW: Nice mod! +1

EDIT: Take a look at this for your question.

Yeah, that shouldn't be a problem. Are you trying to add the new attributes to tools that already exist, or ones that you define in your plugin? If you want to add them to your own tools, just throw in the extra groups like you would the standard groups.

If you want to add groups to a tool that already exists, the easiest way would be to redefine the tool.

Also does anyone have any suggestions about what I should add
