this mod is not very fast and when you burn to much it crashs the game. to burn stuff with this mod you have to make matches.

I didn't add interaction with lava.

Ok. I'll try to think how to adapt the mod to minetest_game fire.

Hey um... just pointing this out:
The latest 0.4 dev has fire...(Though you need to get it off github :3)
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn, (For the fallen, In honur of ANZAC, 25th April 1915))
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We shall remember them.

The latest dev snapshot has fire( meaning its downloadable ). And for two this mod is still usefull, it has tools to make fire instead of using lava. Jordan4ibanez made a nifty flint and steel mod to.

When creating and using a match my Minetest suddenly closes with this error:

"19:53:57: ERROR[main]: ServerError: LuaError: error: /home/john/.minetest/mods/fire/api.lua:34: attempt to index field 'material' (a nil value)"

This mod is old and you should no longer be using it, Fire is now in Minetest

Also, for future reference, tar.bz2 can be opened on Windows! Simply download and install a program like 7-zip (free and open source), and you will be able to open almost any type of archive.

Mods don't even work with 0.1.2, the modding api was only added after 0.4.0
