I am trying to improve the minetest wiki by adding isometric renderings examples of mobs after the mod description in the http://wiki.minetest.net/Mods:Mobs .
Is there any tool for this yet? What about isometric rendering of blocks and structures. How was all this made? http://wiki.minetest.net/Category:Isometric_Picture

I know it can be done with Blender, and I think there is even an addon for doing it, but that is the only way I know of.
I record Minetest videos, Mod reviews, Modding tutorials, and Lets plays.
