It's not naturally generated. Everything seen here is naturally generated.

I think you should base them on REAL elements then make the Minetest ones Compounds.
Also remember that not all element's names have to be 2 letters.

Well, two letters is easier to remember than two, and, actually, have you seen the periodic table, as it contains two letters max for each element. Try and prove me wrong.

Not after element 113, which in Uut, 115 is Uup, 117 is Uus and 118 is Uuo...

But most of those elements are not proper in the sense that half of them can't exist without instantly degrading, and a couple of them are purely theoretical. So I would say they don't count.

This is cool, and a good bit of fun.

It would be an interesting mod to take all of the non-craftable nodes like dirt, water, mese-in-stone (at least I don't think these are craftable in the minetest_game) and give them a periodic number, then replace the crafting table with field in which you could enter a scientific formula. Default-mode, creative-mode, scientific mode... You'd have to harvest each element first though, unless you wanted to do creative/scientific.

Just thinking at a late hour here so bear with me

Stone = ST
TREE = TR

WOOD = (TR^1)
STICKS = (TR^1-1)

Stone Pick Axe = (TR^2-2) + (ST^3)
Stone Axe = (ST^2) + (TR^2-2) + (ST)

Wood Pick Axe = (TR^2-2) + (TR^3)

I don't know why I chose -1 for sticks. I suppose if I knew how to denote a different isotope I probably would use isotopes to define variations.

GLASS = SA^1-1
torch = CO + (TR^1-1)
GlowGlass = (CO + (TR^1-1)) + SA^1-1

One formula, construct any item, from all of the raw materials

if you are running windows, you can use microsoft power point to organize them even better. lol

The chemical symbol for Gold (Au) is based on its Latin name Aurum, not for its English name Gold.
Silver (Ag) is named for Argentum
Iron (Fe) is named for Ferrum
Sodium (Na) is named for Natrum
Tungsten (W) is named for Wolfram

just a piece of some science.

I lost interest in Minetest for a couple of years and... I am still not really paying much attention. I rarely browse these forums anymore but it's nice to see old faces.

I would classify bones, dry shrub, and perhaps mossy cobble as organic…

Epic, makes me wonder how all those nodes/tools/crafts could be visualized. I think it would benefit modders ans also players to see how all these things are connected. "The bigger picture"
