Im making a minigame in Java that is related to Minetest.
Minetest Roulette is similar to Russian Roulette, but there is one thing i can't figure out.
What could be the "revolver" in Minetest Roulette?

Ok, so the player would pick a box where (s)he would stand in and there is a 1/X possibility a sand monster will fall there?

You could just make a Minetest mod. Upon typing a command, 1/6 chance to die, if you don't die, you gain some health.
