Re: Freeminer
So it looks everything is OK. It is clearly stated that it is based on Minetest.

Re: Freeminer
so tell him he does a good work and thumbs up :)
Re: Freeminer
Hi.
I recently downloaded and started playing freeminer.
I like it and have been able to install minetest mods to it though some mods will not run and spit code errors at me, some of which I can kinds solve but may have broken something lol
I have found a limit. it will only let me have 32k nodes, I forget the exact number.
I have installed the 64bit version on windows 10
Will there be an update to allow a lot more nodes? (I have a lot more mods to test lol)
I must say good work on this game, I am really enjoying it :D
I have attached a screen shot of a village I built, I had to fly up a while so I could get all the buildings in the shot.

Re: Freeminer
I do not use freeminer any more, because there are no new build out there!!
You can only use old files at the moment! The homepage of this project is still closed!! Maybe we here something about it in the future or it is a stopped project.

Re: Freeminer
I checked out the latest version. Only snow biomes but what is worst of all snow is bound irrevocably with dirt which makes conifer forests covered with this debased mix look unwatchable.cHyper wrote:I do not use freeminer any more, because there are no new build out there!!
Earlier versions with more sensible biome generation are also not much better. Fast as snail and the camera cinematics causing nausea. No, thanks.

No it is not. 'Freeminer' is a better name than 'Minetest' every single day of the week.paramat wrote:Hehe 'Freeminer' is such an overly-obvious and unimaginative name, even worse than 'Minetest'.

Re: Freeminer
Yep, not to mention there is even a historic English word "freeminer" that is all too fitting.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freeminer
Of course, a quick search for "freeminer" on Google turns up countless links with references to the Minetest engine on the first couple pages. So the initial SEO hurdle is already taken care of. And the domain name is already secured as well. It's unfortunate that some people want to hold onto old ideas and refuse to embrace progress. I guess that's kind of telling about the Minetest project altogether.

Re: Freeminer
Huh? Should Freeminer be downloaded somewhere? Because it's just something with compiling.

Re: Freeminer

I know this project has ceased, however does anyone have 0.4.15.8-dev FREEMINER for windows built?
Much thanks in advance.

I agree! "Minetest" was a name that celeron just came up with in his first versions of minetest on his hard drive. Unfortunately, the name stick around.crazy_baboon wrote:No it is not. So, you agree with yourself?

Is it rlly that hard to believe? xDparamat wrote:So, you agree with yourself?
Personally i was always satisfied with the name "Minetest" from beginning, and after years of knowing it id almost hate to see its name change.
Hey, what can i say? I'm the bad guy.

Re: Freeminer
Minetest is a great name in my opinion. Lots of other programs are named with an existing word from some language or well-known abbreviations, e.g. slack, min, evince, audacious, eclipse, audacity, flash, chromium, chrome, etc.
This is abominable.
