Waitaminute...this may be my fault. You see, I was paring down Clonecraft Classic to be lightweight and have removed "unnecessary" mods. Sorry bout that.
Unfortunately I will be too busy this weekend (camping) so I won't be able to update it this weekend so here's what to do in the meantime:
Take Clonecraft and copy these mods to Clonecraft Classic:
farming
dye
plantlife
Let me know if I was of any service. Not sure bout the stick though...

EDIT 1: Gameplay for Survival mode has always sucked anyway. I mus work on it.

I am getting a error and it's shuts itself down, now I am using the recent version of Minetest, 4.10 and I have a duel core 1.6ghz, with 4gb of ram, and my video is ok. Here is the error

Hmm. Very odd, will look into it. I havent tried the latest versions of Clonecraft. This is the latest version of Clonecraft, right?

i was looking at the trees in the screenshot and they looked amazing how did you do it. Just so you know your game is impressive. ;)

Thanks ;) Eventually I want a stable game the functions very much like Minecraft but, unlike Overcraft, isnt slow.

OK, here is my list of suggestions:
  • Change the flower textures to better fit the overall style
  • Add a good crafting guide
  • Increase water transparency. The water looks really bad in Clonecraft.
  • Make an animated water texture for both Clonecraft and Clonecraft Classic
  • Fix the coal (and possibly other “ores”) texture to better fit together with the other stone texture
  • Somehow prevent grass spawning in mid-air

Are you sure you ddidn't ess with the game files? That sshouldn't happen; all the mods are there.
Which sort of direction should I go with the flowers? more detailed, less detailed...what look are you goin for?

I just reinstalled the entire mod and the Clonecraft recipe errors are gone. OK then. :)

Oh, another thing: The package has a folder called “__MACOS”. This is garbage and does not belong to the Zip file, please remove it for the next release.

I like to have the flowers more detailed. A few more color tones would be nice. It would be good if the size is about the same or slightly larger. I would like to have smooth color transitions rather than “hard” ones. But most importantly, as long as the flowers look different enough compared to the default flowers, this should be OK for me. :)

shoot...yeah after the PC gave out (after six months of ownership mind you) Ive switched to my Moms mac. Mac handles files strangely.

Oh and i forgot to say ill be deloping the game soon and shoul have the next version up in approx. 9 days at most. Will actually have time to test it this time!

Hey guys,
Am updating the mod now but I can’t find the /spawn COMMAND mod, sorry. Also, Wuzzy, I’m not sure how you want me to change the textures. Maybe you could give me a hint in exactly which direction you want me to go? And also, since the Windows machine gave out I can’t change transparency of colors (I used to use Paint.NET, now I have to use GIMP) I also don’t know how to make animated water. I will add the throwing mod, woo!

I'll probably be doing extensive testing today. Are there ny kinks I should look out for or fix? Im also thinking about adding a colored lghts mod and also using the Crafting mod for creating mode only.

EDIT: I've found that 0.8 will ddefinitely crash onyou, sorry. Remove fishing and moreblocks.

EDIT 2: This project may be on hold. The Mac laptop completely locked up while playing my game, and the power, eject and rght arrow keys werent working to begin with. If we get the Mac fixed in 7 days, Ill upload the latest episode as fast as I can. If not, Ill call for help. But basically to create the latest version for yourself:
1. Remove Fishing and moreblocks
2. Add npcf and Peaceful_npc

I would apreciate it if someone would make a copy of this and post it here, that mac was the only computer that can connect to the web.

EDIT 3: The Mac is now up and running. Yay! 0.8.1 will be coming monday.

Ooooohh...I forgot about that. sorr.y Will add when I update. But with no time for testing, who knows if the game wont crash...JK, itll probably work. ;) Thnx for reminding me.

As you can see, I posted the latest version of the game. I'm not adding spawn yet; I haven't been able to test it yet but it will likely be in 0.9.
We'll be hitting version 1 soon, what are your thoughts on the game to far?
I test mines.

Okay sorry for not notifying you guys but I released 0.9 that has your commands. Unfortunately they dont have the right depends. I'm gonna work on that this or next week.

I've got an announcement to make:
From today moving forward I've been forced to suspend testing. Moms been wylin (shes one of those "any screen time is too much screen time, and if its screen time for a game then its too much too much screen time" people) out and banned Minetest temporarily. (other than the tirades, her other reason is that the school season is rampin back up) Of course, I may still be able to create new updates and versions, I just wont be able to test it. I also wont be able to spend as much time as id like working on the game as id like either, so some updates may seem hasty. (sorry!) Id greatly appreciate it if in the meantime either someone could do my work for me (make the changes I would make) or help with testing and debugging, I dont want to freeze up the game every time ;)
Changes that need to be made:
Depends for the mods, I forget what theyre called. (but you can see which mods they were by launching the game, it shows up when you start.)
Maybe more mobs, but remember, this is supposed to be kinda lightweight.
Transparent water texture, this is IMPERATIVE! (I hate feeling like Im about to dive straight into paint.)
If you dont work on the game thats fine, im not gonna hate on you, like "wth arent you working on my game" I tottaly understand. :) I just want the updates to be released in a timely manner.

Edit: If you want to make the changes yourself, this post is outdated, follow the next one instead. I also uploaded in page 4 a zip file to extract instead, gets craft table, wood door, stone hoe and wood hoe all working at the same time. :)



Hello, I installed your subgame Clonecraft, it's a good subgame too, though I haven't been playing it for long. I did have a problem of not being able to craft the craft table, or the wood door.

So I looked around the .lua files in the included mods, in Clonecraft\doors\init.lua I changed

Code: Select all
minetest.register_craft({
   output = "doors:door_wood",
   recipe = {
      {"group:wood", "group:wood"},
      {"group:wood", "group:wood"},
      {"group:wood", "group:wood"}
   }
})

to the following:
Code: Select all
minetest.register_craft({
   output = "doors:door_wood",
   recipe = {
      {"default:wood", "default:wood"},
      {"default:wood", "default:wood"},
      {"default:wood", "default:wood"}
   }
})

And that fixed the wood door so it's craftable

I also fixed the init.lua in Clonecraft\mods\craftingpack\init.lua
from:
Code: Select all
minetest.register_craft({
   output = "crafting:workbench",
   recipe = {
      {"group:wood", "group:wood"},
      {"group:wood", "group:wood"}
   }
})


to the following:

Code: Select all
minetest.register_craft({
   output = "crafting:workbench",
   recipe = {
      {"default:wood", "default:wood"},
      {"default:wood", "default:wood"}
   }
})


These changes allowed both the wood door and the work bench to be craftable. I made the changes and reloaded my saved game, and was able to craft them without creating a new world.

I thought it would be best to submit this in a forum post here. If you have problems crafting the craft table, or the wood door make these changes in order to craft them. :)

I don't know if anyone else had problems crafting the craft table or wooden door, but thought I would post my fix here just in case. :)

Hello again:

There is another option, modify one file: init.lua in Clonecraft\mods\default\init.lua

change the following from:

minetest.register_node("default:wood", {
   description = "Wood",
   tiles ={"default_wood.png"},
   groups = {snappy=2,choppy=2,oddly_breakable_by_hand=2},
   sounds = default.node_sound_wood_defaults(),
})


from that to this:

Code: Select all
minetest.register_node("default:wood", {
   description = "Wood",
   tiles ={"default_wood.png"},
   groups = {snappy=2,choppy=2,oddly_breakable_by_hand=2,wood=1},
   sounds = default.node_sound_wood_defaults(),
})


this change has the benefit of changing one file, and may be better for future compatibility with potential updates to the mod. :)

This change or the previous one would get the crafting table and wood door craft-able. :)
