Here are some screenshots from LOTT 2.0, which is a complete rewrite of the current LOTT (i.e. taking no code from Minetest Game and very little from the old LOTT):

Very nice game!
I played a lot, singleplayer and on oldcoder server, but i can't find any servers anymore and the worlds I created are no longer "seen" since I use a newer release...
And in this recent version, i don't have the map we can a few posts above...
Where are the new features? my worlds? the servers?

But still, a very good game! thanks a lott ;)

There aren't very many servers running LOTT (sadly), there seem to be a couple on the server list though, if you have a look. I would like to begin hosting a development server at some point soon... I don't know what could have happened to your worlds... How did you get the newer release? And what release did you you upgrade from?

The map I posted a screenshot of is currently not published, I have to iron out a few bugs, but I'll hopefully push it to github in the next week or so... I'm slowly working on new features, but I'm quite busy at the moment, so I'm not able to do as much as I would like to with LOTT...

Isn't mithril described as "silvered steel"? Maybe it should be an alloy, not an ore.

Silvery steel actually refers to its properties.
It is as hard as steel yet and shines and doesn't tarnish like silver, which was what made it so sought after

Hey all,

I didn't know this was being worked on currently, and I couldn't get in touch with the developers via email or IRC, so I have forked this game from the older (stable) version. I have completely modified the rings (which are now all very awesome and worth making), tweaked some mobs, craft items, overhauled guide books, modified ring crafting, changed the armor system, added HUDbars & armor & mana bars, Mystic Rods of Defense & Polymorph, better signs, Sting, Glamdring, Wizard Staff, Grond, High Elven Bow, 3D torches, protected areas, etc. I'm in the process of adding a couple powerful end-game mobs, as well as balancing values for mana & damage in general.

I'm not a professional coder, but I'm extremely skilled at cut & paste :D I've borrowed a lot of ideas from other mods, such as Legend of the Test, and tweaked them for my own purposes.

Still, much is un-modified and still amazing, thanks for this amazing sub-game! I'd be interested in collaborating, either adding my changes to the main branch, or incorporating the new changes into my forked version. My code is sort of here and there, but mostly commented.

I'm currently using the modified version on my own private server for family members only, but it's great so far.

I recently started playing this game. I kinda mixed creative mode and survival mode a bit to get ahead quicker. I am confused about the palantir. How do you use/place it? I think I am doing everything by the book, but it doesn't seem to be working.

Well, I am still adding things. When I feel it's ready for public scrutiny, I'll release it, and make a new thread so I don't hijack this one any more. So far it's going very well with my neices and nephews.

Today I just added "Shelob's Brood", a very scary mob that's dangerous even with the four rings of power :)

I haven't had time to play minetest much recently, decided to try single player again, and downloaded Lord Of the Test for something different to try.
And I'm stuck on something simple.
I'm trying to craft a bronze ingot. I have tin ingots, and I have copper ingots.
the recipe looks quite simple, tin ingot,copper ingot
but that doesn't WORK.
I even looked the recipe up, its:
lottblocks.crafting.add_craft("default:bronze_ingot", {
recipe = {"lottores:tin_ingot", "default:copper_ingot"},

I'm using minetest 0.4.16 and LOTT Version: 1.1.0

P.S. does it REQUIRE a ring of power to make bronze? I'm trying to figure out what type=dualfurn does.

What am I doing stupid? I'm sure it's something I'm doing stupid.

I THINK I figured this out. You have to make a special kind of furnace to produce bronze, instead of just doing it in the crafting grid!

I'm having a LOT of fun, but have run into a confusing issue that was mentioned once before in this thread.
There are a lot of thing, including a bed, that require cotton or string.
I've gotten a few cotton seeds, but i can't seem to make them grow. And I can't find any other way to obtain cotton or string other than spider drops, and I haven't happened to find any spiders yet.
Would be real nice to be able to set my respawn point at my home. But I think I need a bed to do that.

edit: I finally got cotton to grow. Not certain what I did differently, it may just be that it grows VERY slowly.

Would you update the tool textures, to have the same shape(s) as the latest default tools? e.g. pickaxe, shovel, hoe....

BTW, you refused the use of big schematics : My advice : Take a look at LOTH, it has a good town generation.
