A workaround to do this would be enabling nodes and commands to kick a player and automatically connect him to another server/port of the server. (currently not possible)
To do this properly we would need to have a way to have only one inventory in all worlds, sharing player files or similar. (afaik not possible yet)
You could create a link.

There's no point in doing it manually, just play in different servers if you want that. Automatization is better.

Note about fps: default view range was increased to 100, so you can see more now, if that will bring lower fps to you, you can change view distance by pressing + or - keys on keyboards numpad.

Thank you ...

Compiling from source on Linux *based* distros is not that difficult once you get used to it. There are also recent development builds available for Windows and Android systems if you search these forums. See benrob0329's links above.

He means a PPA for aptitude in Debian, a distro of GNU/Linux which Ubuntu is based on.

Does Debian support PPAs? Or is that an Ubuntu only thing?

As a physicist i should know that semi-frozen is not possible.
We are 'chilled', concentrating on stuff essential or desirable for release.

You can add PPAs do Debian. But because the packages are usually built for Ubuntu you can get dependencies problems. Shouldn't be a problem with MT, but compiling is really easy so…

Some are asking for a new date to be set for feature freeze, this is not really possible as there is still work to be done on features and bugs essential for the release, and we don't know when these will be completed.
Essentially, feature freeze will automatically begin when these 'milestones' are completed, so the lack of a date does not mean relax, the release is wanted soon and is waiting for these milestones, so we are working hard.

The best way to test is to use the latest version and report any bugs. The more you use it the better.

I rebuild my local and server installs rather often, and I can't say that I have run into any bugs not already known (the kind you forget about after a while) so everything seems good so far.

Sorry, but for now Minetest Game doesn't support translation. Maybe you want to edit those codes and use intlib mod or vortoj mod. So, only main interface that can be translated by using Minetest's hosted Weblate.

Star_Gamer, I agree with you, this is needed badly. Translating Minetest alone is not enough, the subgames are much more important. This is a known feature request:
https://github.com/minetest/minetest/issues/2270
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10031

Long story short, nobody has ever gotten around to do it, and my guess is it won't come in 0.4.14 either.

if you use a Linux distribution, chances are you might be able to find some people who would be willing to help with l18n and l10n work. You may not find someone right away but, if you keep at it, chances are someone will be willing to jump in (especially if they check out the software and like it).
As far as windows or mac, I have no idea.
But just try doing some searches via web. This is one site I saw just a moment ago, (I did not look at it much but, it seems it may have some useful info?) http://www.i18nguy.com/ and this is a best place to start https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internati ... calization
In all aspects of software, there are areas which could use improvement, especially regarding l18n and l10n, and such work is only ever beneficial.
But this is how such projects begin to take shape, is when a user has a need and begins trying to find resources and others who have the same needs and desired outcome.
It is understandable to think such things should be done by developers of the software, and with commercial software this is the case, and should be expected. but with free software, the dev staff is usually understaffed and most likely are not very versed in l18n / l10n work, as it is somewhat difficult and dreadfully teadious
This is often the only way such needs can have any hope of being fulfilled. And if your work makes progress it is a great way to give back to the community :)
Each Linux distribution, normally has it's own translation teams so, if you use linux maybe try approaching the devs there first, they may be willing to take a look.

The only item in the milestone on github that has not been resolved is the shadow bug at y=63. Noclip seems to need more time. Is someone on that shadow bug, and does light recalculation not change it? I hope this is not blocking the release for too long.

*** Freeze is this coming weekend hopefully ***

I'll tackle the y = 63 bug during freeze.
Serverside noclip has been delayed until after release.
Devs are very elusive recently we are very understaffed.

I hope static draw distance is added! The Dynamic draw distance based on the fps is really taxing on my single-core! A way to turn this off would be great. My suggestion is that the max static draw is 256 and the static draw defaults to 64.

This is the version you use to test.
https://github.com/minetest/minetest

If you want to test PRs that have not been merged you would build the fork from the person who made the commit.
Many of my mods are now a part of Minetest-mods. A place where you know they are maintained!
