PB&J Pup removed, how to preserve it in your worlds

We decided to make the PB&J Pup mod a separate mod you add yourself, instead of being included in MTGame.
The PB&J Pup mod has been removed from MTGame.

Pups in your world will not be lost or replaced.
All you need to do is grab the PB&J Pup mod folder from MTGame and add it to your MT mod folder when you upgrade to the new version of MTGame which does not include the PB&J mod.

Even if you do not manage to do this straight away your pup nodes will not be lost, they will appear as 'unknown' nodes, but once you add the PB&J Pup mod these nodes wil turn back into pups.

But mostly I think because too many people have been whining/complaining about it (mostly the Nyan Rebels)

Why can't we have something nice and decorative in the default game? First it's trademark, and now the Nyan terrorists. Pretty soon there will be so,many "default" replacements for replacements for replacements for PB&J Pup as a replacement for Nyan Cat that these things will no longer be as special as they are and we''re gonna be stuck with nostalgia.

I never really liked this mod anyway. IMO it was too shoddily implemented and had weird/inconsistent use of timers and the fact that you can accidentally eat them.

No, your predictions are wrong. Nyan Cat is never coming back. Christopher Torres' trademark claims have settled that.

No, it wouldn't due to legal reasons. But you can easily install the Nyan Cat mod.

If you checked it's probably downloaded on 80% of all mintest players' computers.

but why don't you just alias "nyan rainbow" to regular "rainbow" and "nyan cat" to "cotton candy cat" with some texture tweaks?
that would solve all the problems I can think of...is there a reason for not doing so?

BBmine: Nyan Cat and PB&J Pup have both been removed from latest dev build so to have them both in the game you need to install the mod from the link I posted, it spawns Nyan as before but with chance of it being a PB&J Pup as well :) ... also no sounds and only rainbow block behind them both.

well, I might try it if it's actually going to be in the game...
but I think that anyone can do that, just change 4 self explanatory pieces of text(2 display names, 2 internal block names), add an alias(with the help of the wiki), tweaking the texture is easy too, it's not like you have to make a new texture...
but really, I want the devs to respond what they think of it...this is probably not a good thread for that though...should I make a new post?

I made my own mod that replaces both Nyancat and PB&J Dog with a Candycane Cow for personal use here: https://github.com/Pilcrow182/candycane_cow

I may make a forum topic and 'officially' release the mod later if people are interested, but for now I'm just leaving the link here.

I don't like how everyone is making their own "meh" versions, just a little revision on the "formerly nyancat" mod and all is well...

the whole point of Cotton Cat was to be a replacement for Nyan cat, evading any possible lawsuits while looking similar and not breaking anything...
hopefully it'll happen at some point...I have no time or computer right now, so can't do myself...

That's why I only linked my candycane cow here instead of making an actual release post; I feel it's a bit too simple to be a 'real' mod, and mostly just made it for personal use, but I loved how my art turned out and wanted to share in case anyone else liked it... :)
