Yay! Thank you to all the devs and contributors who made this possible through many months of hard work. I'm glad I got to be at least a small part of the development. :D

Very impressive (claps)
I'll have to get to work on testing all my mods to ensure 5.0 compatibility :)

Importantly for servers, CSM restrictions have been added, see
https://github.com/minetest/minetest/bl ... mple#L1467 and
https://github.com/minetest/minetest/bl ... mple#L1480
A server can, if desired, prevent clients from loading any client-provided CSM mod.
Alternatively, a server can allow client-provided CSM mod loading but disable any combination of the 5 CSM functions 'CHAT_MESSAGES', 'READ_ITEMDEFS', 'READ_NODEDEFS', 'LOOKUP_NODES_LIMIT', 'READ_PLAYERINFO'.
If the 'LOOKUP_NODES_LIMIT' restriction is active, node information can only be accessed by CSM mods for nodes within the specified radius around the player.
Note that the default value of 'csm_restriction_flags' allows client-provided CSM mod loading but disables all 5 CSM functions.
It's highly recommended that servers update to 5.0.0 to allow the use of CSM restrictions.

Next minor will be 5.1, if in 5.0 will be some critical bugs found, 5.0.1 be released.

Great! I'm lucky that I haven't written any mods yet. They'll all be made with Minetest 5.0.0 and later in mind, so I don't have to worry about rewriting anything code-related.
All that I have to do now is wait for Linux binaries (specifically DEB and RPM packages), and I'm ready to try what's new.

Spoiler
F10 doesn't work for me
I use the "Minetest 5.0.0 - portable, 64-bit (recommended)" version from minetest.net. My screen resolution is 1920x1080. Minetest uses 1920x1017 pixels of my screen. Usually the chat goes down completely when I press F10.
Solution:
Change console_height in the settings to 1.

It`s ok. As i see you enabled full view range ('R' key) when you were being in that place.
