Minetest Game 5.0.0 also had a bug, the dungeon loot mod would cause a crash if certain Minetest Game mods were removed.
So Minetest Game also has a new bugfix release, called 5.0.1, which should be used with Minetest Engine 5.0.1.
It is found here https://github.com/minetest/minetest_game/tree/5.0.1

THANK YOU for doing this. It's good to see bugfix releases.
It was always so frustrating for having to wait >6 months for getting post-release bugfixes for bugs that were fixed shortly after release.

Are these bugfix releases now becoming standard practice? That would be greatly appreciated.

The next time you do this, please don't forget to update Weblate as well. :-/
This release has touched a few strings.

I should stick a post-it note to my monitor which says "Don't forget Weblate!"

Hopefully! I'll be fixing a few of my bugs for 5.0.2, when I have some free time.

We'll have to investigate how to test patch releases better when the feature branch and patch branch diverges a lot: this caused a lot of the issues with 0.4.17

:D

Maybe writing a release TODO list on the Developer Wiki might help.

Yay! I found why Homebrew will not update Minetest.

Code: Select all
2019-04-07 21:05:49: INFO[Main]: Audio: Global Initialized: OpenAL 1.1, using
2019-04-07 21:05:49: INFO[Main]: Irrlicht: Irrlicht Engine version 1.8.4
2019-04-07 21:05:49: INFO[Main]: Irrlicht: Darwin Kernel Version 17.7.0: Wed Feb 27 00:43:23 PST 2019; root:xnu-4570.71.35~1/RELEASE_X86_64
2019-04-07 21:05:49: WARNING[Main]: Irrlicht: No doublebuffering available.
Error: minetest: failed

So what is doublebuffering?

jajaja, means no sinc code changes.. it's a tecnique that depends on the X11 module graphics subsystem.. so revise your compilation.. ah sorry for sure youjust grabbed a binary minetest! and minetest just build in irrlicht! what a problem..

Please, do compile by yourselt! that's all.. or... ah for sure you just grab a binary je jeje.. you must compile it by your own..

and for servers:
rubenwardy wrote:Hopefully! I'll be fixing a few of my bugs for 5.0.2, when I have some free time.

CTF was update to 5.0.X and now are more "empty" wel not empty but less users get in.. so seems 5.X are not so "fun".. a CFT with 0.4.X version will be good! just now i can see CFT ESP (0.4.X) vs CTF (5.0.X) and CTF-ESP has 9 players agains 0 on CTF...

I opened a issue agains minetest for make able to coexist both .. i have just only one proble at the gettext directory due the files just are named "minetest.mo" at /usr/share/locale ..
