Hey developers of Minetest,

A time ago I was on holiday and had Openvpn to my home network. I did connect to my local server at home and putted my minetest server on. I tried to join it, but it doesn't work.

So, I will ask you guys to add an opinion to use Openvpn with Minetest

I hope that you are going to try it or that you have an idea for me.

There shouldn't be any issue with using openvpn with minetest - I've used it to connect to Minetest servers before

better you check first if the ports used most for minetest like 30000 up, are still transfered via openvpn, then you might find the mistake.

You should update also here.
I'm very sorry, but I am not allowed to fix this. :-(

Not sure about issue, but reporting as well.
Fresh load of minetest download on fresh pc causes non loading to servers at all, max percentage i got was 1% for 2hrs wait on a limited 8GBs line.
Might be bug but downloaded again and restarted minetest, tried again same issue.

This is likely an old bug. You can confirm this by installing a 0.4.x binary. Some particular mods make heavy use of texture combining for signs, color effects or customizable textures (skins?). Minetest does not know when those are no longer needed, thus the garbage will cumulate over time.
If this happens in singleplayer without other mods as well (i.e. locally hosted server) then it could also be a new memory leak.
