Re: WikiNews interview with celeron55
It's very interesting to see the perspective of Minetest from C55's perspective. You hear all over the place in the forums and GitHub about Minetest being an engine, or a game, or something in between, and then there's this perspective of "It's a thing that you do stuff with. Do what you want with it". I kind of like that. It makes things a lot more lax and less like "This needs to be done to make Minetest what it truly should be." (both paraphrases, of course).
Also, this next quote explains the main reason why I still am with Minetest: "It's an outdated idea that you implement a feature to use it. Minetest can be enjoyed as much inside a text editor as it can be enjoyed by controlling the player character in the game." I keep telling myself that I'll start building stuff again in earnest after I implement this one last thing... and then I think of another thing I want. And to think that I started modding Minetest (and my first foray into programming at all) because I wanted an XNOR gate in Mesecons...
