The minetest-classic forum uses FluxBB. It works well and I like it better than PunBB.

What about the ability to add tables . Forum posts will look better, I think.
It also, for example, will allow to keep information of mod on left side and the Mod`s logo on the right.

Another simple, but very usefull ability is a align. Why there is no such simple feature?

Is there an ability to do this?(in this forum or in new)

No! It looks disgusting, hard to read, crappy beveling everywhere. The forums are good as they are.

Yep it is quite hard to read at the moment. Hope it gets fixed with the new theme.

Just wanted to ask...what features are lacking in PunBB, which phpBB has?

Any web designer knows that tables should not be used for formating.

One thing I'm sure many people don't care about since they don't know how convenient it is: phpBB has much better feeds than the current forum. The current one only follows new topics, not new posts in existing topics.

So... WHEN would "the switch" happen?

*offtopic*
There's a list of "why divs layouts are bad" reasons too.
Also there's a list of "why javascript is so bad"...
and a list of "why php is so bad"...
and a list of "why linux is better than windows for a server purposes"...
and a list of "why not all linuxes are equally good for server purposes"...
...
But what's really bad - it is usage of Adobe Flash to make the entire site...
))))))))
*the end of the offtopic*

Edit: note, that I didn't say that anyone should use tables for layout or that tables are "ok" to make a template.

Don't use divs either. Use article, definitions, aside, etc.

so what are the exciting features left that phpBB offers for page layout or is page layout in itself evil?
Should we only structure the content in a logical way and leave the layout to ... whatever renders the page?

Alignment and floating would be good. You could make sidebars. However, it could get out of control.

May restrict alignment, and only give it to those with:

Code: Select all

(over 200 posts and over one month) or (over 100 posts and over five months)

You know that:

Code: Select all

(over 200 posts and over one month) and (over 100 posts and over five months)
Simplifies to:

Code: Select all

(over 200 posts and over five months)

I think the table and readability issue is due to a lack of rules. E.g colour formatting in signatures and wrong use of formatting (code blocks, spoilers etc).

I think we should move the informative first post of every mods thread in the wiki, and leave the forum to discussion only. Then it is easier to find updates and informations for mods, because it is always the same wiki page.

But then anyone can edit it, making such idea pointless.

It is, but that's a topic feed. Not a feed for all posts in the whole forum.

There are entire Sub-Forum RSS feeds, you just have to collect them all.

Nevermind onpon4, at least you are getting the feature you want.

Also, who the zwiz uses RSS?!
