hmm ... no ... even in a way I think this architecture is boring.
But it gets it's life by proportions.
Furthermore the inside layout is much more interesting than the outside facade.
(I took only the 2nd floor for all)
The challenges: use details, decorate the interior.

I'm a fan of experience of space. So I like much more gothic and "fantastic" architecture.

wow, how could I miss a Schinkel building
excelent!
everytime I'm in that area of central Berlin I think one should rebuild this in minetest.
have you been there lately? the changes to that area are pretty dramatic - in good and bad ways ;-P

I have always been intrigued by architecture of, what I call the "Ages of style", even this neo-renaissance.
Although have to admit, ironic that a "school of architecture" building would not have been more flamboyant in design than this during the time period it was designed and built.

But interior design is, as you state, just as important and the way it is used.
It is why when I see huge builds with a bunch of large buildings, I become generally unimpressed when I find the interiors are not done at all (maybe just one block in on each floor)

I will end my bit of off-topic for this section now :P

an arctic base complex with housing, huge buildings, network of tunnels, and a shack outside that is totally normal and definitely does not conceal a secret tunnel :p

ThomasTheSpaceFox, undersampling makes the scene look like stitch work. pretty cool.

D00Med..., NICE! funny this looks exactly like a new house which was built in my area over the last month.

I think rubberduck stole this idea from somewhere. Probably he couldn`t invent style of so building. It`s too hard.

This is an almost-to-scale replica of a 5th-wheel RV I have lived in. I don't have comparison photos unfortunately, but I can still show you the interior.
