That logo fits better :)

I didn't see in all that post any genius idea that would find better logos than the actual Minetest ones :/

as long as it is passed along unchanged and in whole, with credit to one of the following names ;

"Asherz08", "MadPixel", "Ashley Denham"

Also included is a .zip containing the GIMP .xcf file and the font used, complete with license.

EDIT: this looks terribad on the main menu, have to change it...

Most people like the currant icon better than any suggestions, and I think it fits fine.

I like Paramats first suggestion better than the current one.

@Wuzzy: the font's A character looks like a creeper, might want to change that ;)

It's easily changed, uppercase A looks like that, lowercase looks like the rest of the chars
There is another font I found that had a "crumbly" look, but there was no license with it so I didn't use it.

I have a much better idea for Minetest logo. You can make it yourself on this website (https://textcraft.net/) instead of changing texture.

As a fellow logo designer, I see what you are saying about the current logo. But i also understand how it can be viewed as too generic (good work, though). I think this is an issue to keep in mind. Think about what makes Minetest different than Minecraft (sub-games).

Man, I think that the Minetest logo is just very good because:

• It's flat design (which, in my opinion, gives it a modern look)
• It shows the essence of what you'll encounter once you enter the game for first time (or not, maybe you spawn inside a rock...).
• It's colorful and bright having a vivid/funny vibe.

I checked some Moka Project icons and they are really good, your logo is not bad at all, but it kind of lacks some glow I saw in other icons... I know it's hard dealing with gradients (I even tried to suggest a new Minetest title/header a few lines below, but I also feel that the colored version lacks that vivid colors and glowy stuff (Attack it!! I need criticism, but constructively)).

About the background title screen, I think it's so simple. I don't think that a blue sky with clouds running around is a negative point (and they turn darker on the horizon sometimes because the game clock works even in the title screen(?), did you notice?), but I think that it would be very cool if Minetest featured screenshots of worlds made by players at the title screen. Almost like the idea of bosapara.
