Can someone (possibly "the man" himself) settle an ongoing discussion?

How do you pronounce "Mese"? Long "e" sound (MEE-seh) or short "e" sound (MEH-seh)? I have been debating this with several individuals and there doesn't appear to be any official source to confirm this. Did I overlook something somewhere in the wiki?

If anyone ever organizes any away-from-the-keyboard meeting of some Minetest people somewhere, talking about mese is sure going to be very odd. It was never meant to become anything aside from a joke between a bunch of Finnish programmers. 8)

However sometimes I pronounce it like two separate words: "me-ce" ("e" like in "America", "c" like in "celebrity")

^ That is relatively close to how it's originally said in Finnish. Me being Finnish, that's how I say it.

I call it Meeeeees, Like a long "me" with an s on the end. It was on a discussion on Mesecons pronunciation that I "learnt" that. I originally called it "Messy".

Google Translate's "listen" feature for Finnish says it exactly like a Finnish person would. We don't need real people for this in 2014!

Thanks for clearing that up. I had it all wrong. I was pronouncing it with only one syllable. Open Source often introduces names that aren't pronounced as you would expect by reading the text. Ubuntu, Debian and just recently, Mate (the desktop) have tripped me up with surprising pronunciations.

Sorry for bumping a very old topic, but could someone create audio, upload it somewhere and mention the link to the audio file inside Minetest Wiki (or just upload it into Wiki itself if it's allowed) so that normal players who don't even know IPA could actually call the block name correctly?
