Hi everyone,
I recently started playing minetest. I really like the game and appreciate everyone's work on it.
I have a dual-boot computer with Windows and Ubuntu. I installed Minetest on Ubuntu first. Whenever I play on a server on Ubuntu, my internet connection drops after a few minutes of playing and I have to reset my router to get it back. I have a reliable internet connection and this only happens when playing minetest on a server. I do not have this issue in Windows, but I would like to play Minetest on Ubuntu. Does anyone know what's going on here?
Thanks!

Have you tried using the latest version? If you installed Minetest from your distributions repository, it is quite likely that that version will be too old. The game is developing rapidly :-)

Happens to me too! But if I log back on it works fine. Usually happens every 20-30 minutes.

Solved my problem with an ethernet cable. :) I had been using wifi.

Re: Connection dropping when playing on servers in Ubuntu
You might have to install a different wifi card driver/firmware to get it working without periodically dropping the connection. I read some about that problem when I was looking for how to get my laptop to connect to wifi (the proprietary driver/firmware was on the fritz due to not being compatible with open-source, not-for-profit linux-based OSes)
