That somehow reminds me of open clonk. However, I'm not sure if the mob is a dungeon master or a cow seen from behind.

minetest with faster pointing calculation, a tool with range = 140 does not cause lag:

It aborts if it found a pointable node, l need to make it abort if it reaches ignore that it doesn't lag if the range is set to inf.

Please, can you tell me why it doesn't work correctly here?

Before it tested every node in a big cuboid, now it just searches the nodes in the point line, so it doesn't work yet with nodes which have selection boxes which reach out of the node. It could be fixed by stacking quadratic plates in direction to the biggest (biggest abs value) coord of dir.
