If it were me, I'd consider that a challenge. I bet you'd waste more of your time changing things than I would.

Honestly, don't offer a project as open source if you're so keen on maintaining an iron grip on it.

The code will be all open, but the artwork and the experience as you experience it on my server are mine, and mine to dictate. If you hate how it looks on my server, you can either work collaboratively to change it and improve it, or you can go run your own server and create your own experience.

Offering texture packs that change MY artistic vision for players on MY server without even telling me in advance is in my opinion a hostile act, and I'm dismayed I learn this through a casual forum thread where it's mentioned sideways, especially when the person doing so certainly knows where I can be reached for feedback and collaboration.

It's like I made a movie but you're showing it in your movie theater with Jar-Jar binks removed and replaced by Kirby, and not telling viewers that the original is the way the author intended it. Why is it so shocking that I'm repulsed by that?

Now this one I find interesting. Wandering across a "busy" area I came upon an island with rich, verdant fields and ponds and such on one side, a huge wall running across the place and on the other side is a snow-covered mountainous region which looks like it could be the home of frost giants. As a fan of Norse culture, guess what I plan to do here? Think Asgard.
