I manually built these kinds of buildings a long time ago and thought that they look very different to common houses, so I decided to write code to create them automatically.
It is possible to change the thickness:

I fixed the holes bug by now.
Here is the code: https://github.com/HybridDog/mydev/blob ... fnhaus.lua

There's also a script to approximate a hollow sphere with voxelised triangles:

testin'
wondering if there's a way of making textures look acceptable both with tone mapping on and off.
Image
Also wondering how it went down, are MTG textures so dark because they've been tested with tone mapping on,
or the god forsaken tone mapping has been introduced because MTG textures were so damn dark.

I gave up on dark themes and just locked my colors to white on dark blue. Thank goodness some browsers still allow you to refuse to follow the tyranny of "web design" that's infected the Net. 95% of the web sites out there make me want to punch their "designer" in the head.

Edit: And while I'm ranting, let me say that I should not have to run two script blockers, a cookie monster, greasemonkey, and a giant host list full of nulled entries just to read the news and a few BBSs! A pox on the modern javascript/css crapfest that is the Web.

And I firmly believe that there's a tenth circle of hell under construction, specifically for the creators of webassembly.

@duane,

That is a naturally occuring surface level cave that spawned, with the lake inside. The mods are my voronoi mapgen with a 3d noise blended in, which produced the cave. The lake was made using my lib_lakes mod, which is really the bergsee mod from octacians OCD2 game, itself a continuation of OCD by bas080. This is what also produced the lava lake in the previous post, with the "Unburning Wood of Bugalert" that you pointed out.

This is the water filled cave from further out.

Image

The trick is getting the 3d noise to cut into the terrain, and less so define the over lying terrain shape.

Trying to make a tutorial for my little inventory mod. It occurs that the person who wrote the mod is probably the worst choice to explain it, since they take so much of its use for granted.

Now, to achieve earth like realism, it's time to redecorate ecosystems...
