Re: Post your screenshots!
More and more interesting discoveries :) This one I regard the best looking Alpine glacier I've found so far.
"Turbo" tweaking of Valleys -- mountains are not as high as in other tweaks I've attempted, they reach max about 700 nodes, but as far as a "mountain parkour" or climbing in a simplest way is concerned they provide best gameplay. Another notable feature of this modification are numerous gracious 'mountain lakes' at the sea level.

Cool as ice ;) Now something for better balance, especially since the season isn't warm at all despite the much advertised global warming.ScorchedFalcon wrote: This image really is cool, Voxel.
Gunung Anak Krakatau
It means "Mountain Son of Krakatau". The real volcano is still erupting and definitely not as friendly as this screenshot is :) (It's edited, the original tp is Sunny).

Thanks!
The villages are a customized version of the Settlements mod. I'll try to get my customizations on Git soon. In my customized version, I converted a ton of .mts schems to Lua schems. So far, I have the mts files from most of Sokomines villages mods (medieval, sandcity, tents, gambit, cornernote, and lumberjack village types), settlements, the Villages mod from Farlands game.
A birds eye view of the above panoramic
Two more villages

Highest point so far -829/ -510 / 738
deepest point so far -1908 / -938 / 768

Treasure Island
Found in "Turbo" Valleys. Screenshot with slight addition of flavour poetry ("To the hesitating Purchaser" from "Treasure Island" by Robert Louis Stevenson).

I find them interesting, too. It makes me think about mushrooms.texmex wrote:Nice one! I really like the circular placement pattern of village houses.
I'd like to know how the cobblestone buildings of fresh minetest players on servers are arranged. I assume that the place a player builds a house is strongly dependent on existing houses, so a simple Gaussian distribution should give wrong results.
If I remember correctly, I saw a topic where somebody used machine learning on their minetest server to calculate something like this for research purposes.

Re: Post your screenshots!
There I was checking out the new Carpathian mapgen today, and to my delight it had plenty of flat areas. I had trouble finding any spots with severe mountains though, which is a tough problem I think: having big flat areas seems to conflict with having areas with massive difficult to pass mountain ranges. Either you lose the mountain ranges, or your big flat areas are a bunch of smaller hills with no even terrain. So I took a screenshot of the pretty epically flat desert:
And then I turned around...

Here are some photos from the NYE Countdown Celebration on Just Test Tribute :)
Everyone gathered at spawn as the giant mese globe began its ascent exactly 10 seconds before the hour!
Then thousands of balloons dropped upon spawn plaza at the stroke of midnight UTC (and again at midnight Eastern). It was crazy loud between the sounds of balloons popping and players sounding their party horns in unison!
And for the grand finale, a spectacular fireworks show lit up the sky above Castle Nemo. All mods (including the confetti, mese globe, digital counters, LED lights, and balloons), were custom designed for the JT2 server.
Thanks to everyone that partied with us! I hope you all have an amazing 2019
