It says near-infinite, means not infinite but "feels" infinite.

Enrikoo, did you know that there's a mod which causes damage when you are too long in the dark and there's a sunburn mod, it causes damage when you're too long in the sunlight,
and there're those people who use both mods at the same time

Yes, you have to stand in a spot where you are being irradiated by an artificial object.

One of my favorite places in valleys mapgen:

What is funny with this kind of deep blue ponds is that they have never been implemented on purpose. It's complete serendipity.

Very nice! And the water texture is brilliant, perfectly underscores the charm of the ponds. But how did you make the curvature of the landscape? It adds a lot of appeal to the somewhat uncanny beauty of this country...

Yes, some discoveries are actually unexpected. Your mapgen generates for example shapes in the topmost parts of some rocky mountains that strongly resemble castles. A very pleasing example, and really not the most impressive of those I saw already:

Does this type of terrain connect continuously to the sea-level ground? I mean, would that be possible to scale this kind of weird structures to the sky? (That's another idea for mapgen - 'stairs to heaven' ;) )

This is my proof of concept of usability of high altitude terrain for the gameplay. The picture shows the summit stretch of the trail to the peak which is at Y=1233. I did the same way several times to check its replayability; the pole visible on the screenshot is a trail mark (since the terrain generation in non-fly mode of play does not provide points of reference which would make finding the right way to the top easier). My opinion is that this kind of large terrain features can add a lot to the playability of games featuring some elements of survival and exploration. Personally I greatly enjoy this kind of play, although anyone who would like to try this out and is not accustomed to this type of prolonged climbs should be aware that due to the repetitive pattern of cubes in barren terrain some symptoms of psychosensoric deprivation may occur.

Browsing for a font in the advanced settings is really weird. It is not conventional at all. Strange background, thin non-transparent field, X button, and label at the top.

Image

Certain things don't even work, like actually selecting the font! This really needs to be updated.

Lava Flowing flowing on Lava Source doesn't look right, does it?

This probably can be changed in source code.

Playing around with mg valleys. The screenshot is edited to highlight the potential of its algorithm, so it's only a draft, not a completed work of art ;)

It seems to me that the most impressive underground features can be found in mg v6. Recently I discovered a very large underground gallery with bridges, columns and long passages, which made the exploration a highly rewarding experience.
