I am sure that I will make a more elegant solution to this problem :) In addition, I need my servers only for testing the subgame. I get thousands of free testers who sometimes do such crazy things that I couldn’t even think about it.
minetest_game, in fact, could not have worked for so long. My last record was 8 days without crashes, and I think that was not the limit, but I needed to upload a new version of the game.

Lejo, thank you. Statistics 5.0 shows the real situation. Look at the number of players .. Official MT is about 90% in this case.

It’s hard to say real situations as all clients are just the old ones.
We can say that there should be more Minetest players but we can’t say that there are less forks. You could calculate the percentage when adding also the join count of the other server.

the situation is that there is simply no player for the official Android client MT 5.0. Also, players cannot simply download the legacy version 0.4 on Google Play, and if they are random players who are not familiar with GitHub or the forum, having updated the game, they have lost the ability to access their favorite servers.

Yes sadly.
But the old servers would update if there weren’t so much forks which keep the old server full... this results in Minetest players using the old version and so on.

I can offer only one thing - you are the owner of large servers. And you have a certain influence among the players.
Support my initiative in creating the best MT client for Android, iOS and Windows Tablets. I am ready to change the license (LGPLv3 => LGPLv2), make a port of all MultiCraft changes for Minetest 5.1 and help release clients with the best gaming experience.
I'm also ready to be a sponsor Steam accounts, the Windows 10 Store, the App Store and a separate Google Play account, which will belong to the community, and not to one of the developers.

I wouldn’t say that I have a large influence on minetest. The coe devs decide the most things.
The first thing should be to only have up to date clients. Of course it would be great to have a Minetest build on iOS but I’m not sure if the core devs would allow it as it is still an abusing of the license. Everybody could ask Apple for the source code of your game and then Apple will take your app offline.

And then there is the advertising thing... you can’t have a good game experience with fullscreen ads.

Well, as I said, that was a long time ago. Now Apple has completely revised the rules. There are many applications that use the LGPL library.
In addition, I did not say anything about advertising. Or for you MultiCraft = Minetest + Textures + Ads? :)

Using as library is something different there are special rules for this.

Source code on github.
About copyright - I do not understand your question.

The information is absolutely correct. I have only 20 characters. MultiCraft really has that kind of copyright.
Minetest credits are fully provided in the game (Credits tab), on the official website and on Github.

It's not about giving credits, it's about who owns the code and it's not only you! People will think that...

I don’t care that someone might think something is wrong. This field is the name of the person publishing the application. I can not write the name Minetest there, because I do not own this trademark and am not a representative.
If you think that I'm doing something wrong, you can enlist the support of a good lawyer, take powers of attorney from several large MT developers (because you yourself are not a MT contributor) and ruin me in court.
I am trying to talk with you how to improve MT. You prove to me that I'm doing something wrong in MC. If you really are a patent troll, act. Enough to be a child who can not go beyond the keyboard of his old PC.

What the hell is wrong with people?
