Anyone here experienced with port forwarding?

Hi, I have a server running on a computer at my house, but I need to have more up-time and I can't do it with the way it's currently configured. I need to change the computer that's running the Minetest server from one that is directly connect to my modem to one that is connected to my router.

By the way, everything is static (including my WAN IP), so I don't have to worry about any of that.

The diagram below explains what I'm trying to do, but can't. I've tried forwarding port 29999 to 10.1.10.60 on the modem, and then port 29999 to 192.168.1.133 on the router, but that doesn't work. Just forwarding the router has never worked for me either, no matter what the application.

I hope this is in the right section. It's not really a minetest specific problem, so I put it here. It's sort of related to Minetest as well, since it seems to handle servers a little oddly compared to the other applications that I use.

You could try running all of your computers through your router. Then forward port 29999 to the computer that is hosting. My setup has my modem attached to my router and nothing else. If I'm misunderstanding your request let me know!

I didn't even realize that computer was out in front of the router in the diagram. Put it back behind the router where it's protected.
