Hi,
i just downloaded mintest (mac) a few days ago and i love it.
Never played minecraft..
I allready spent (wasted
) so much time on my world creating house and other stuff.
i also have a few ideas for the future..
RPG - System:
This was requested allready.. im sure, but as i love rpgs it would love to see this in minetest.
How about a crafting skill that increases if you do and gain knowledg.
Like at the beginning you can only creat the wood tools, with stone or metall.
Also those first tools wont last long because the are poorly crafted but as your skill improve those tools last longer and you gain the knowledge to combine different components. (like stone or metal tools)
The same system could be for fighting experience, like in any other RPGs.
for the future a magic system (combining ingriedients) or long range weapons. Ammunition could be done by crafting too (arrows= 1 stick + 1 metal)
Edit Books/Papers, Bookshelf:
I guess this is allready planned. But just in case its not...
It would be great to edit Books like Signs.
I think about custom Title and the abbility to write more stuff in it, so you could create a Guest Book where all people could write their name in it.
Bookshelfs could turn into containers (only for Books and Papers)
Regrowing Plants/Trees:
Another thing i would love to see is regrowing plants and trees.
maybe if you let the stump (or roots) a kept in place trees and plants grow back.
Another idea would be that if all wood of a tree is collected that after a day or two the "flying" leaves automaticly disappear.
User created Content:
My last idea is user created content without dev experience.
I know you can allready easily create texture packs, which is nice, but it would be very cool to create also new materials/monsters/maybe even items for your server/world.
The information for those new content could be saved in config files that containt the basic data:
float/fly = Yes/no
texture/model = ....
transparency = yes/no
physical coniditon = liquid / massive / and so on...
melt = yes/no
does damage to player = yes/no
how much = ...
collectable = yes/no
how easy to destroy/which tool = ...
does attack player = yes/no
speed = ...
and so on.
Anyway, great work!!!
Thanks to anyone who is involved in this project!
