i choose "game" because it's shorter. :-) Also I think it's the correct name: Minetest Engine -> Minetest game (that can be other such as LOTT or CTF) -> Mods (that are able to modify the game). "Subgame" could be understood like some kind of modification of the Minetest game itself.
