This does look like a river. Very good but for bubbling terrain ;)Gael de Sailly wrote:One more pic from Lua Valleys Mapgen, using my custom parameters:

Well, of course it's quite natural to spot the Trinity in heaven. Moreover I'd say that it's very natural that the Trinity doesn't spawn at y=666 but at y=667. Nothing unusual.Hume2 wrote:voxelproof wrote: That's amazing. It must be very rare.

Re: Post your Screenshots of Terrain!
This is actually very interesting. Most sloped mods have slopes that face in all directions, but this appears to run in one direction, which produces a cool effect.Chiantos wrote:

Re: Post your Screenshots of Terrain!
Chiantos,
Which part do you mean?
The screenshots above showcase my yet to be released updates to my lib_materials and lib_ecology mods. Those will be released as a modpack, and will be "hot pluggable" into any other subgame.
The slopes are the natural_slopes mod, with my modifications to accomodate the nodes defined in lib_materiels.
If you only want the slopes, you should download natural_slopes, or one like it.

What functions do you use to generate slopes directly in your mapgen? It is this part that concerns me, to modify the borders with the slopes. In my image. I just ask manually for demonstration, but it would interest me to do it directly via the mapgen of the engine. The natural slope mod directly modifies the generation of mapgen? Or another mod uses the slopes and adds them to a mapgen?
Good Day ;)

Re: Post your Screenshots of Terrain!
Though the pond-like water reservoirs were regarded at first according to the programmer of the Valleys mg as a bug because their surface tended to be sloped and usually didn't resemble flat lakes, in "Heaven" tweaking this fault becomes (sometimes but quite often) a nice feature, at least on the flatter parts of terrain (lowlands and plateaus). The below examples demonstrate plainly that probably there's a possibility to apply this setting of mg parameters to greatly improve the appearance of water above the sea level.
The ponds on the screenshots are nearly flat and the last one is completely flat in its main part.

@Gael
Wonderful. especially the second one. I especially like "natural" sculptures or unusuallly shaped mountains resembling e.g. castles or palaces, like in your example.
