Mobs?

Can someone please tell me which version of minetest used to have mobs in it? I remember playing this game years ago, and it had a few mobs in it. This was before you could download other "games" or use a server list to search for servers.

Mobs were always added through mods, this is one of the most popular ones. Since mods are handled server side so I suppose you encountered them on a server back in the day. Some games also contain mobs.

And yes, the game did have built-in mobs.

Interestingly enough, I just found out that the current game still has some evidence of these mobs. If you play the Minimal Development Test mode, you can use the /giveme command to obtain the rat, cooked_rat, and firefly items.

You can even cook rats.

Built-in mods were back in 0.3.x and below. That was a long time ago, and I don't suggest using it if you want to play Minetest seriously. But they're all on GitHub, so go ahead if you like.
