old hardware and this game
i went to see things being developed for this game and i looked at dynamic light..and the first thing i see is "Not good for inclusion yet because the approach to dynamic light kills performance on low-spec hardware." whyy?? why cant you guys include this for the unstable version...its a game guys! like when you guys start adding more and more things..the games going to lag more and more..but you guys cant just not add it because it kills really bad hardware (which i dont see why thats a problem because basically if you have a video card..this game will run)..come on guys! make it so we have the choice to turn it off! but please...things like dynamic lighting from the torches your holding..that would be amazing in this game..include it..just have the choice to turn it off..like what do you guys think is going to happen when we have 3d models? its going to lag on low spec pc's ...you know why?! their low spec pc's! lol crap hardware+games=a match made in hell! it just wasnt meant to be! ..so come on..dont ..not include things because they are going to make ancient hardware lag..include it..and give us the choice whether we want to turn it off or not

Hey, don't be rude to my laptop, please.
The one of the features which makes minetest such a great game, it is that one - support for not so powerfull hardware, integrated graphics and so on. I wish i could have more games like this one: games which you like because of the gameplay and style, not because of the graphic effects only.

no no no! you dont get what im saying! i mean...their not releasing cool updates for this game..because it doesnt work well with old hardware ..i mean..when the game starts getting more and more complex..it will be laggier.. whether or not its performance optimized..like redstone..that requires your cpu to calculate and then display its calculation as a texture..that will not be good for old hardwarebookwar wrote:> crap hardware+games=a match made in hell!

yes..also it will be more cpu and gpu intensive..but im sure we could iron these out to make it more efficient..and this game could be compiled more aggressively? that might work too to fix the increasing requirements for newer parts of the gameStaffs wrote:With this you mean ram usage will be bigger ?
