That does sound a little cryptic. I told you Linux was easier. So, the first step is to upgrade to Linux.
...
Not funny? Fine. Lame half joking aside, is sounds like you need to open your "start" menu, find the search bar, and type "cmd" (no quotes). Into the black window that pops up, type "cd /bin". It's not exactly what the instructions say, but it's easier to understand, and I think it will do the same thing. I don't know for sure if cd works on Windows though.

Make a shortcut of minetest.net
open the shortcut's properties and add this after the link in ""
"<mt>/bin/minetest.exe" --server
Make sure there is only one saved game in the world folder for this to work

cd does exist on Windows. It stands for "change directory". 8)StrateKill wrote:cd isn't on windows and i dont get this on the wiki
Note that you don't even need to use the command line to run a server from your client. If you just want to play over LAN or Internet without running a "dedicated" server, just start the built-in server by going to the Advanced tab in the menu, then put no address in the address field (and keep port 30000). When you do this, the server will be stopped when you leave the game, though.

Please tell me you're NOT looking for a flat round thing...StrateKill wrote: cd isn't on windows
That reminds me, when my sister got her first computer, I proceeded to install some games for her. When she came home, I told her she had the games on the Desktop for quick access. After half an hour she called me she couldn't find any games. She was looking all over her desk, and in the drawers for the games, but couldn't find any. I truly LOL'd that time.
