@Temperest: Thanks, got to take a look at that later on...

Thanks for all your awesome creations!
We are now figuring out the winner and it's not easy again (at least we got some categories that makes things simpler).

I decided to give out some small prizes:
All participants can get an eMail address @mesecons.net and the winners of categories advanced / expert can have a subdomain .mesecons.net;
I know that these are not really the best things... I need to make up some better ideas for next time...
So: Stay tuned!

How about letting them join a special mesecon server where they make mesecon machines and people can come in and look.

Thanks :)

I made a video showing how it works just now, you can watch it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMhHJb6qygM

It moves at around 0.5 m/s given a skilled operator and little lag.

Thanks, Temperest, I was missing something like these instructions.
In this competition we're facing big compatibility problems. I'm trying to port Temperest's plugs and sockets, enable the experimental crossings and fix some bugs in the core to work around some glitches in the creations.

Experimential crossings would be great, I'll try to work on plugs and sockets today if I can. It should not be too difficult to port it over.

If necessary, old versions of Mesecons are always available.

@Jeija: I've finished porting plugs + sockets to the latest mesecons! They should have the exact same behavior as they used to, and the mod is much smaller now due to everything I've learned about Lua since then.

Temperest, thanks! I had already ported them at an experimental stage, but that new code looks a lot better! :D

However, there is some bug in the core that I still need to fix as soon as I have time for it... (try placing a receptor directly next to a gate)

Winners
- Build a >creative< trap: Temperest
The tree trap was definitely really creative, well done!
- Build the Temple of C55: jmf
The Temple was really well done and such a
large structure must have been a lot of work. Good job!
- Build a display that can save and load one or more images: monty_oso
Score: 5*5*2 = 50 points! Also, good circuit design
- Build anything you want:
That was really tough to decide on.
Candidates were:
  • Nore with the 4-bit multiplier
  • Temperest with his Airship, 7 segment display and Song Play-o-matic
  • VanessaE with roller coaster
The final winner is:
Nore!

As I announced, you can receive some small prizes:
All participants can get an eMail address @mesecons.net and the winners of categories advanced / expert can have a subdomain .mesecons.net;
Temperest, you can also get a .mesecons.net if you want to, it was really hard to decide on the winner and very close this time.

Here's a great screenshot of Nore's awesome multiplier:

Congratulations Nore! We all know your entry certainly deserves what it got :)

I did have a lot of trouble getting the multiplier to run on my machine, but I think it might have been caused by the chunk load distance being too short.

@Jeija: thanks for the offer! How would I go about obtaining one?

Thanks! Your creations were impressive too! And you're not the only one to have trouble... You need at least active_block_range to 2, and if you do that, you will need to frequently look for the wire that didn't work... Jeija, thanks too for the offer! What should I do for it?

Just tell me what subdomain/eMail you want and I'll set it up. Ask in this topic or eMail me (jeija@mesecons.net). You won't have that much memory though.

Sure thing Jeija, here are my suggestions:

Email: uberi@mesecons.net
Subdomain: uberi.mesecons.net

Thanks!

Also, off topic, do you plan to make a stable release soon? I ask because I think making a release after luacontrollers get in would be a good idea.

Temperest, I've sent an eMail to you.
In case your subdomain contains mesecon-related stuff I may link to it from mesecons.net
