VanessaE's Minetest builds for Linux (2013-06-19)
Posted: Mon Apr 08, 2013 21:30
This topic/thread is obsolete. No further builds are planned.
Here are my git builds for AMD64 GNU/Linux, with cURL and LuaJIT support (but not Freetype). Includes minetest_game, of course. Built against glibc 2.13 and Irrlicht 1.7.2.

Older builds:
Some of these builds were made under Ubuntu 13.04, the rest under 12.04, but I don't remember which is which. As far as I know this shouldn't matter, these should be cross-compatible.
Click here for my archive of previous builds.

Notes:
Since these builds are from Minetest git sources, they should be considered experimental to a small degree - expect the occasional problem.
At present, these builds contain patches by PilzAdam to limit the CPU usage of the flowing liquids code, but are otherwise unaltered.
If your package manager complains about the package missing a maintainer name, just install it anyway - I don't know how to fix that.
After you install Minetest and LuaJIT, if you get an error complaining that libluajit-5.1.so.2 was not found when you run the game, just do sudo ldconfig and run the game again.
