I will make another one soon
Re: Post your videos!
I've created a Video Guide for first box builders on the "Inside the Box" server.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4V5PR9Xh1s
While it's not a short video, it covers almost all the basics. Enjoy.
Also, this was the first time I managed to actually get video out of blender in the first place. I'm surprised I didn't manage to do this earlier, but It really took 1-2 good tutorial videos to get some basic knowledge and workflow stuff under control.

Maybe you should try kdenlive https://kdenlive.org (it's free and opensource)but It really took 1-2 good tutorial videos to get some basic knowledge and workflow stuff under control.
It's very easy to use and it's pretty advanced in blender video editing is a nightmare
(and I also whant to bring more attention to the program)

I already know blender really well for 3d editing, and I can do a lot of things in there. Learning a new tool from scratch is way more time investment than learning 2-3 basic skills in a program where I already mastered 30+ skills.
Besides that, the few things I needed to learn was things like video timeline snapping and where the export options are. All the other video editing concepts were already well known to me since I used programs like cinelerra before. I must say, I am pleased that I managed to make a 24 minute video in under 2 hours of editing time, with several transitions, audio tracks and going over every segment in detail, so it's absolutely not a nightmare - on the contrary, I found it to be very flexible and capable. Especially since I barely watched 5 minutes of video tutorials.
Besides, if it starts with a K, it's probably a UI disaster :)
I already use OBS for recording, I was talking about actual post processing, which is something OBS studio doesn't do.jas wrote:I've always been a big fan of OBS

Sofar please explain :)
Re: Post your videos!
No. Just google for "blender video editing" and thousands of youtube videos will appear. Blender is a really capable video editor. How do you think they made those Big Buck Bunny movies?azekill_DIABLO wrote:Blender for video editing? Have I read something wrong?
Most of the KDE software was a UI disaster for ages. A lot of software still used hasn't improved, and since most KDE developers started their applications with the letter 'K', it has been easy to spot software that used to be terrible for a long time.toby109tt wrote:I don't understand that joke :/Besides, if it starts with a K, it's probably a UI disaster :)

+1 for Kdenlive. But I’ll always stick it in a chroot so the dependency hell won’t clutter my system.toby109tt wrote:Maybe you should try kdenlive https://kdenlive.org (it's free and opensource)

No, literally, just *normal* video editing. Like cutting scenes, and adding audio, and doing transitions.azekill_DIABLO wrote:oh 3D video editing. Re: Post your videos!
Video editing with Blender is amazing, relatively simple and yet it allows you to do almost anything. That's what I've used from the start. And ever since I've had a GPU that could support OGL 3+, I've been using OBS too. To be fair though, Kdenlive doesn't look like too bad an editor... It seems as though it could be a good editor for beginners as Blender has a much greater learning curve IMO.sofar wrote:No, literally, just *normal* video editing. Personally, though, Blender + OBS Studio are my favourite video tools :D

When you love Minetest more than Minecraft=
It is true...
I play both MC and MT, However...
I made a custom texturepack for MC that simulates minetest!!!! And NOW in this video, I am OCD'ing 843jdc's mansion, yet again!!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZ1DmKFIppQ
In short, you can never let a good build go to the wayside. I always loved his mansion, and like to re-build it.
