You are like the tenth person to ask this so I'll reply once and for all: this is being worked on currently and yes a PR prepares.

I wanted to share this excellent video that maikerumine recorded of the new year's fireworks show on JT2 last week.

The prelude is at 2:00, but a longer display occurs at 20:00 where I focus more on artistic progression with a grand finale. I'd recommend skipping to the latter if you don't care for all the party horns in the background :P

This is the first time I've been able to fully appreciate the entire show as a spectator, since I'm normally too busy orchestrating the sequence of launchers below. But i can honestly say, I'm really pleased with the continual refinements I've made to the pyrotechnics mod. I think it's reached a level of realism that is far beyond anything that I would have even thought possible for a voxel game :)

Wow, that should be in a Minetest gallery!

Or promotional material.

I put together a quick demonstration video of the latest working prototype of Ratio Workspace. I wasn't able to cover all of the features in detail given the limited timeframe, but it should still give an idea of some of the basic functionality.

On a sidenote, I also had some fun working my DJ skills by mixing the background music (it even matches pace of the presentation :)

Is the video cached along with the other assets at login or is it streaming live via a buffered video channel?

There is no server->client sending for this yet.

I am very much hoping this feature and the reflective surfaces will eventually make their way into the engine.

Last year one of my more vigilant players made me aware that it is possible for anyone to inspect locked chests on servers with only basic CSM knowledge. This means that confidential information in written books are vulnerable to intrusion.

So I ended up developing a mod that offers block-chain encryption of metadata for itemstacks (in particular books), in addition to encrypted node inventories with pass-code access via a new "Digital Safe" node. The safe is particularly suited for players that want the extra peace of mind that nobody -- not even moderators with protection_bypass privilege -- can snoop through their personal belongings.

I put together a quick demonstration video that shows how the safe works.
