um i just installed openSUSE 13.1 and am getting familiar with the command line processes but i do not understand how to install the minetest dependencies.
EDIT: i know about the zypper thing but some of the dependencies don't have the same name
how to compile on openSUSE 13.1

You do realize that you can also compile and try out Freeminer now, don't you? It runs much better on Linux than on Windows, for some unknown reason. Look below for the website:
