Can I convert texturepacks on Linux without Minecraft?

No, if it's a third-party resource pack, you can do the conversion yourself (or write/find a script that does part of it for you). You do need a copy of Minecraft to convert the default resource pack though. You can do either of these just fine on Linux.

Thanks, I already downloaded the TP. It seems that Minecraft only has one grass lenght
