Hi i am trying to figure out the texturing on xpanes. On both glass and obsid i can't for the life of me get the sides to texture it just grabs from the (centre i imagine) part of the default textures. Is there any way around this without adding a cross section to the default glass and obisd?
As for the tops of the same two i don't understand why a single texture for N'S and for E'W directions, the cross effect just breaks the seamless flow. I noticed this on the fences also. Can these be fixed (without rebuilding the models to texture correctly) or are we stuck with a cross over effect. I can't see how to do this myself within the textures. Doh!
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Finally, what is the xpanes_pane_half. I can't see it in creative, i tried build a wall with slabs and tried slotting a pane into the half space to see if it would change size and slot in there, no joy.
I can't see how or what to texture.
On the other hand the steel bars look great and texures both tops and sides. Just that seamless issue :-(
Thanks in advance
regards

Re: about xpanes texture?
I am not quite sure, but I think this is what you are looking for:
https://github.com/minetest/minetest/bl ... s.txt#L140
You can place a "override.txt" in the texture pack folder to redefine which textures apear on which sides of any node.
And together with texture modifiers:
https://github.com/minetest/minetest/bl ... i.txt#L369
that gives you a lot of power.
The one thing that the "override.txt" does not allow you to change is aligment style and scale.
Hope that helps!

Oh yes that helps, i had seen the api.lua but not the texture_pack doc and it looks like it explains exactly what i need to do.Skamiz Kazzarch wrote:I am not quite sure, but I think this is what you are looking for:

I will have to get my head around the override.txt it seems more powerful than i thought.
