There is something with the inventory. I have an updated working version but I'll release it another day.
This version still has the bug.

You should use a seperate folder and edit the configuration file[1] instead of overwriting the existing textures.

Also, what is this bug?

I'm looking forward to the screenshots :)

I like your torches and your player (though the player texture didnt load @ my computer for some reason). Some of your textures look a little 'bland', I think. For example it's hard to tell the difference between planks and sand. Wood could also use some additional markup. I like your cobble stone, though. The original cobble stone has too much mark up, I think. Also, your textures are generally brighter than the original.

Also your signs don't look like they have text on them!

Here's a pic of my toilet. Walls are made of sand and cobblestone, floor is iron blocks and stone. The toilet is made of iron blocks with a sign on it.

This is my garden. Materials are planks, sand, wood, dirt w/ grass...

The white background bug also appears when viewing trees with the old (non-transparent) graphics mode. They appear to be covered in snow.

Currently the inventory exploits the ability to store colors in transparent parts of the images; images are stored so that there is the image without transparency, and then the transparency layer which speficies which pixels actually are transparent and not shown.

You should be somehow able to edit the colors of the actual pixels in the transparent regions. (I do it on Linux with mtpaint)
