[x32] Gitpack [Community Texture Pack]

by Zsoltisawesome » Fri May 30, 2014 16:06

Hello! Today I wanted to announce GitPack!

It is quite a simple goal: Make a texturepack with the community and have it support as many mods as possible!

Also: Not only is it for Minetest, It is also for Minecraft!

We are looking for people to help with the minetest_game and minetest_next textures at the moment, and then we will move on to mod support.

Here's the README:

gitpack
The GitPack! The Open, 32x32 Minetest/Minecraft Texture Pack!

Feel free to fork and contribute!

Licensed under the Unlicense (Yes, that is a real thing)

The goal of this pack is to have a somewhat-cartoony feel.

Who we are:
realtinymonster/Sam Kniffer:Project Head; Texture creator

Amaz1/Amaz: Project Head; Texture creator

HeroOfTheWinds: Texture creator

NANOsoldierEnke: Texture creator

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have a ToDo list filled with all of the textures that we want to accomplish. If you add new textures, we request that you remove those textures from the ToDo list. If you don't it is much more difficult to keep track of what's done and what isn't.

I don't like this pack as it is right now.
In nicer words:

I think not everybody will help to create this pack because not everybody has the same idea of "The best TP"

7:42 PM - Bauglio: so fudge the stable build
7:43 PM - Bauglio: get the staple build

More people from MT will download it anyway... I think that If MC heard it was made for MT too that many wouyld shun it... Some people. Still, I'd love to contribute every once in a while.

Ahhh... I see what you mean. They will have to come here. Or the MT players that also play MC. Am I right in this thought?

Question: How might one contribute to the texture pack, without acquiring a github account?

(I have nothing against github. I just don't want to have to sign up to a service to which I already use alternatives.)
I write code. Sometimes, it even works.

You could make textures, upload them somewhere, (imgur/mediacrush) and ask someone to add them, either here, or on #gitpack on freenode IRC.

The people of Minecraft already have great texture packs. I dont think the community needs to waste their time supporting MT's counterpart when it will not even be used.

Guys, the point of this texture pack is to unite the MT and MC communities working for a greater cause (if you know what I mean). Also, forgot to mention, ALL Pull requests will be pulled ASAP, no matter what!
